Who doesnt love Denny's? This restaurant is woven into the fabric of American culture! I frequented the one near my house until recently. Because just like everywhere else in this country, customer service has fallen by the wayside. I met my friend there the other night when I got off work around 1am. She had already eaten her meal and was drinking coffee .... There were 3 employees piddling around near the kitchen... There was NO ONE else in the store. I sat for 20 minutes before saying quite loudly "man is it cold outside. That coffee sure looks good, Angi" . Nothing. Another 20 minutes and I'm fuming at this point because one girl was sweeping and walked near my table twice without acknowledging me. I tried to get her attention but she was apparently struck with blindness and a profound hearing deficit. I stated again in a loud voice, "I sure am parched over here".... Nothing. In total, I sat for about 50 minutes without any kind of acknowledgement, no greeting, no water, nada. Mind you WE ARE THE ONLY PATRONS IN THE RESTAURANT. I stood up, my friend placed the money for her meal by the plate on the table, and we walked out, me cursing the place and yelling "this place sucks!" I get in my car and here comes the manager shouting at my friend "hey, you didn't pay your ticket" to which she replied " I did. It's on the table". Get this- the manager asks " are you sure? " My friend gets out of the car and walks with the manager to the table and shows her the money and comes back out.... Um, didnt that dumb broad check the table before coming out and accusing her of cutting out on her tab?! Funny that NOBODY acknowledged me coming in, but they sure noticed when we left! Worried about losing out on a $10 meal. I tell you what, they lost more than that... I won't eat at that dump again. You have to be nice to have jobs in the hospitality business or public relations. So Here's a tip for that staff- if you can't be nice to people, don't take jobs in...
Read moreWe came in and we're sat down off to the side by ourselves. We waited and watched all the waitresses look at us but no one asked if we wanted something to drink or anything for 20 minutes, I finally hear the waitresses talking about how we're not sat in anyone's section so I had to ask her if someone could please help us. We can overhear all the other customers complaining about the service. When she brings the food my daughter knocks all the bacon off the plate to the floor and she didn't offer to bring us anymore, it would have been nice since we had to wait so long to be acknowledged. We get the check and all the prices from the kids menus are different on the check then they are on the menu. It's not a huge difference but we bring it up and the girl goes to get the manager who insists that it's tax, even though we point out that there is a separate space for tax at the bottom and none of the other items on our ticket have tax added to it. He insists this is the reason instead of just adjusting the price to what is advertised on the menu and then tell me "kids eat free on Tuesdays not Saturdays" j can't believe the manager was SO RUDE. Never once did we ask to have our food for free, simply to be charged the price advertised on the menu. One of the waitresses even looked at it and said "the menu hasn't been updated" which she is the only person who works there that we have ever seen actually doing her job and caring about customer, I don't see why they don't have her as the manager. We will never...
Read moreThis Denny’s visit was a disaster from the second we walked in. We stood there waiting, and not a single person acknowledged us. No “hi,” no “give us a minute,” nothing. Just completely ignored. Finally we get seated and the waiter rolls up with the worst attitude. I say I want a cheeseburger, and he goes, “Just get this other burger, it’s the same thing but without cheese.” So I asked for clarification, “Okay…so it doesn’t come with cheese then?” and this dude hits me with the most sarcastic “iF yOu wAnT iT tO.” Why are you even talking to me like that? I say that I’ll have the burger with the cheese. He brings it out and of course it’s made completely wrong. No cheese & with all the things I said I didn’t want on it. So my friend speaks up, and the guy instantly gets defensive like I’m the one who said no cheese. Why would I order a cheeseburger if I didn’t want cheese? Use your head. Then, instead of just fixing it and moving on, he acts like it’s a whole inconvenience. Comes back with the corrected burger and says to my friend, “Does she need anything else done?” Like bro… stop with the attitude. Just do your job. And THEN, suddenly he realizes he’s been a total jerk and tries to smooth it over with some free pancakes. Okay, thanks I guess, but maybe don’t be rude in the first place? We weren’t asking for anything wild. Just a decent meal and a little...
