Their menu seems like it's items from a Costco grocery store, rehashed through an AI marketing agent. You can tell they've been told to be "more creative", but management completely misinterpreted what that meant. The menu is still bare, with the marketing words. My mother's sweet potato fries had maple syrup on them? Really weird decision making here. I decided to order something safe: a BBQ Burger, french fries, and salad. The buns on my burger were... Potato buns you'd see at McDonald's (wish I was joking). The meal was a bit... Comical. We decided to stay for dessert. Our "volcano chocolate" dish was solidly frozen Ice cream, which appeared as if it came from a freezer bag; It could've been salvaged being served as one dish with the hot "lava" chocolate atop the cold ice cream, and it would've been perfect.. unfortunately the dish was served as two tiny bowls on a plate, and ended up being a mess whilst both burning and freezing our taste buds. The salt atop the whipped cream to disguise the off taste was... an interesting choice. And the end of the day, our burgers were "okay", my fries were good, salad was fresh but with too much cheese, and the dessert was half scolding hot whilst the other half was frozen hard. The restaurant seems like facade work was done by upper management, but it falls short. You can tell the chef in the back refers to a corporate manual, with little freedom allocated by management. IMO management should allow back of house take more control over menu and preparedness of the food in order to succeed. The menu "uniqueness" is a real buzz kill for me as a guy. I was unable to choose a beer, because the marketing names on the menu were absolute crap. I want to know what I'm ordering, not what the "attitude" or "feel" I'll get from a drink. That's just not how it works for me. It's okay if you're not that unique guys, management please tone down...
Read moreA friend and I went to catch up over food/drinks. Our initial server was friendly and helpful. The food was good, but portions were small- $20 for a salad that was the size of a typical side salad. Steak was cooked well and flavorful. It was HOT in the dining area. Multiple people were fanning themselves with the menus. When I mentioned this to our server, she apologized and said the air conditioning doesn’t work very well. Our second server was outwardly rude and acted multiple times like she didn’t see us trying to politely get her attention. Her boss ended up gesturing to us and she begrudgingly came over. I believe this was because we closed out with the initial server at the end of her shift. We did, however, end up ordering more food and drinks with her and leaving a 40% cash tip. The time flew by and it was near closing, we had no idea. Our server came over and TOOK OUR FOOD from in front of us without saying a single word and threw it away! We were so confused. We then realized that it was a few minutes from closing time- but how is that acceptable?? She could have politely told us that they were closing and asked if we needed a box. Good food, small portions, mixed service, uncomfortably hot in dining area.
Edited to 3 stars because the manager handled it well and tried to make it right. Will definitely give them...
Read moreVisiting the Eureka Clovis for the first time, I found myself pleasantly enveloped in their warm and welcoming atmosphere. On this lunchtime venture, I skipped their renowned drink selection for a simple yet satisfying menu dive. The cauliflower bites were decent, though a tad challenging to eat. They were served in large pieces, requiring a knife for cutting and dipping in ranch. Smaller pieces with a bit more seasoning, and they would've been spot-on! The chipotle burger, cooked perfectly medium as requested, was a flavor fest. Although a bit messy with the sauce dripping, it didn't deter me from enjoying every bite - just had to be careful with my clothes! The truffle cheese fries were good but seemed to miss that extra crunch or a seasoning kick. Service-wise, it was top-notch. Despite being on a work call, the staff was quick to seat me, take my order, and treated me with great respect. The restaurant's dark, welcoming vibe added to the pleasant experience, making it feel warm and inviting. I'm definitely planning a return visit to try their other burgers and perhaps a different appetizer. Eureka Clovis is worth a visit for anyone looking for a good burger and a...
