Wendy's — Restaurant in Clovis

I don't tend to find myself having a drive to leave reviews much, but tonight's experience has inspired me to start doing so.

Having an atypically short shift today of only 8.5 hours I didn't really have much to eat as I had forgotten breakfast, but thankfully I had a microwave meal... All Day...

Fast forward to 6:30 tonight and decided I'd grab some Wendy's, immediately I noticed that almost the whole crew looked as if they were in their first year of High School (which I have no issue with young money earners) but I did have to stand there staring at them as they conversed about how to put a to-go bag together with no greeting.

Once I was finally able to get my order in, I pay with my card, it was made in a relatively expedient amount of time, and I then decided I needed some extra fries (I really enjoy Wendy's fries above all other options) ... but then the strange parts...

I didn't want to run my card again, so I decide to pay for my extra fries with cash. $4.00 for the $3.23 order of fries and the cashier asked me if I would like my $0.77 or not. I was confused at first since I just moments prior saw on the wall that Wendy's donates to help foster children (Good On You, Wendy's, I Love That!!!) but I didn't think anything suspicious until the manager on duty came up behind her and had to tell her to not ask customers that because she can get in trouble, "is this girl pocketing customers' change??" I think to myself.

Second girl at the counter, who I assume is the runner, grabs a bag for my fries coming up and I tell her no worries since I already had one. As she hands it to me a look of absolute disgust washes over her face as I take the fries from her, she lets out a 'gaff' as she turns from me with the same look of disgust.

I don't know what I did wrong to deserve being treated like that, except maybe inconveniencing them filling an extra carton of fries, there wasn't a rush or anything. And I wouldn't have had any issue donating my change if asked (Or if that was indeed what was happening). But I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the food was hot, served quickly, and correct. Not really any other reason.

Hopefully this was just a one-shot issue, and I just received...

Nice try Wendys. We went last night. FIrst we order Give the young girl a 50 for a 17.28 meal ( overpriced if you ask me) she had to get a manager to open the cash drawer Red flag. I asked why she had to do that , she said anything over $40.00 she was required to. So She hands me my change I had it figured already. Sure enough she gave me $38.72. I walked back and gave her the extra dollar. Kinda long but funny. So we were told it would be 4.5 mins to cook (nice of them) to tell us. Ok no big deal. Our # was 2. next we find out the register dosen't automatically advance the #'s and there were 2 # 2's and or food was given opened and returned by the only other people in the place. Wait there's more: Ok no big deal but another 4.5 mins to cook. So the girl that can't subtract comes out with our food sure enough it's all wrong. I show her my ticket and she looks at me like I'm stupid. So another 4.5 mins to cook our food. Now the soda machine. Not only is it a touch screen that everyone has to touch to get there product even those that have just touched there junk and not washed their hands. But I go through all 4 screens several times to find out the 2 I want are not available at this time? All and all it was amusing. The food was good we got to visit for a while so hats off to you Wendys one other thing they just remodeled and the place looks good and clean. However they are going to need some kind of window coverings on the 10 foot tall windows this is Nm people, and the sun was already making it really uncomfortable and...

Im convinced this has the best fast burgers in Clovis. Blakes lotaburger and taco box have disgustingly greasy burgers with patties that crumble away, applebees has no flavor; i think they wanted to specialize in oversalted fries. Mcdonalds burgers are the worst, done by unhappy people and always wrong, but people go there because its the cheapest option. Burgerking has been downhill for years, what used to be a great burger is now cold with different bread and taste that makes it unpleasant altogether. Meanwhile, Wendys burger tastes good, and their burgers look pretty everytime i unwrap it, the vegetables look nice and fresh, the burgers dont look punched or rushed together. They've got new people working there too which was a nice change from before. They could work on cleanliness a bit 4/5 star for that. But they were kind, to us and double checked everything was ok with our order. It's good, go to Wendys, you'll be happy. Their Parmesean Caesars salad is real good, i love the cheap bacon cheeseburgers but any burger you get it going to be good, Daves double is great and filling if youre hungry. The chicken nuggets at Wendys are definitely better than any other places in Clovis....
