Update: Did return to try the place, and although this is quite an unassuming cafeteria style, local watering hole, I will say this, the food was surprisingly better than what I thought it was going to be. I had the soup of the day which was a creamy seafood Cajun chowder of sort. And it was very, very good. Not very spicy but with the right amount of flavors. And truly homemade from scratch. That was such a welcomed surprise. Then—call me crazy— but I ordered the frogs legs. Last time I had seen cuisses de grenouilles on a menu was in France. I know, right, taking such a big chance. Had the appetizer portion. 3 very expensive little sets of frogs legs. But hey, at least I tried them. Tasting just like chicken wings, they were lightly breaded and sautéed in garlic with no distinct flavor. My only critique, the price for 3 little sets was on the very high side. In addition, I had hushpuppies and they were alright. Small in size and on the dry side. To this day, the best hushpuppies in Florida was at the Boom Docks in Panama City Beach. Those hushpuppies you will never forget. Lastly, I also had the key lime pie, which is made freshly in house. Very silky but with a very strong, key-lime taste. One thing though, this might be a little hole in the wall, but the prices are definitely not little. Spending $50 for an appetizer, soup and pie, not easy to do. Perhaps the frogs legs was not the best investment. But the chowder surely was. They do need to work on the lingering cleaning chemicals they’re using though. Just too much to take in. And it’s not just this place. Two other places using the same disturbing spray fluids as well, ugh! ———— I walked in and had to walk right out. The smell was just too overwhelming for me. Made me so nauseous I couldn’t even look at the menu. However, after reading all the phenomenal reviews, I will go back and give it a shot, afterall what’s the worst that can happen? Hopefully the smell of the cleaning chemicals will no longer be so overwhelming when the place reopens on Tuesday.

First, I had fairly low expectations, as I knew nothing about the area and this was in a rather nondescript strip shopping center. But once I asked a question about the soup of the day, the waiter asked “do you want a sample?” Now that’s a cut above! He brought two samples—delicious!—so we ordered some, surprisingly full of crabmeat too. I hadn’t eaten haddock in years, so ordered a “small” size serving. Since we get two sides with it (only $16!) , I had a baked potato and some vegetables. I was stunned to find a large plate (pictured) filled with this large haddock fish—no fake fillet of unknown origin, and perfectly done—filling the plate. The haddock was perfect, delicious, the veggies not overdone and not underdone—frankly I’ve never experienced this anywhere else. Without asking, he brought us all iced water. He offered more sour cream for my baked potato. Our waiter went way above and beyond any normal expectation! He was also personable in a perfectly decent and balanced way. After a very difficult day, this experience renewed my faith in people, in reality and places of business, and I was more full than in quite some time. Others in our party also ordered jalapeño poppers stuffed with crab, really great! A fried oyster sandwich, clam strips, French fries, and fried pollock. We all left very happy to have chosen to eat here. Truly exceptional in every way, with incomparable friendly service. Highly recommended. Don’t let appearances fool you; this is first class food!

My family and I went here and we absolutely loved it! We plan on making it a stop we make each year when we're in town. We're from out of town, so we searched around and were looking for a place that was a little different, not overly crowded, and didn't look like all the other cookie cutter places around town/tourist holes - this place delivered & more! The service was fast and reliable, way above and beyond. The food was incredible. The sweet tea was great, coffee fresh brewed, the desserts were the bomb (we tried one of everything), and the fish was delicious. Between all of us, we had mahi mahi, salmon, chicken tenders and fries, corn on the cob, cole slaw, salads, fried oysters, shrimp, and more, and it was all top notch! The atmosphere is different, but it's welcoming, bright, and makes you feel like you're a local and regular, even when you're not. Everyone who was in with us was definitely a regular because they knew our server by name, and she knew theirs, and that was special to see honestly. The key lime pie was strong, but that's the way I like it! Everything was fresh, made in house. The bleu cheese salad dressing was honestly the best dressing I've ever tasted and I wish I could bottle it and take it with me.

Very bad attitude, unhappy and annoyed server. She wasn't shy to show her unhappiness, she huffed and puffed over getting melted butter and lemon for a to go crab leg dinner. This was after she asked me if I needed anything with it. I would think lemon is a natural give in for all in house, and to go, seafood dinners, and I'm not sure about you, but I would want melted butter with my crab leg dinner!! But hey, what do I know, I've only opened with, and worked for a few great, South Florida, Seafood Restaurants and worked in numerous restaurants. I've worked front end, back end, I've bartended, waited tables, and well, you don't act like she did, no matter what the situation, certainly you don't defend the behavior. Look, what do I know, I was only called to deliver the food for a paying customer, I've never been here before, but I know now, I never will! All it takes is just one bad enough experience and this was just that much of a turn off, she was that awful. Now, I wasn't the one to call to place the to go order, whoever did though, annoyed her, then, that annoyed the owner enough to "make it ok", to treat ME this way I guess. The owner who ended up defending her poor attitude because there were 3 phone calls made to them, which "made him angry too", with questions about the menu and prices, "they have a website you idiots", if you don't know, better find it, have no questions and maybe if you order correctly the first time you will be treated better, but dare you want lemon with your "Fish House" order.... insert lots of sarcasm Please, do let me know in your own review if you do find better treatment, and lemon, with your to go order. :) Unfortunately as I see it, this kind of treatment is ok if you're an annoying company, or customer, a paying customer I might add, who wants food from them, but has too many questions. I also want to add that there were maybe 2, maximum, tables inside with people so it's not like they were slammed, and even so, don't work in customer service if you can't handle the "stress" of it. Lastly, please do not defend a piss poor attitude of your server who is treating someone, a possible future potential, new customer, that has nothing to do with the situation that "annoyed/angered" you so much. I call that a loss for you both, because I'm actually an excellent tipper, 25% and above, even when things are just ok, and this was NOT even ok. Maybe this place doesn't care, I dont know, maybe they have their regulars they like and that's it, so be it, but I would care how everyone, and anyone, who was a paying or potential paying customer was treated at my establishment. Now, I'm going to end with a few words about me... I'm a pretty easy going, forgiving, thankful, apologetic and a happy person who is extremely familiar and comfortable with dealing with the public, all kinds of crazy, annoying characters, people from all walks of life, and I'm good at treating them all with respect and care. I'm also understanding of a bad day/night, I've had them, so I can see past a whole lot.. Bad reviews aren't fun, and I rarely write them, I don't care to write them, but I do so in hopes it will help. I have the sense to know the difference between a bad/rough night, and a bad attitude, and this was the latter. Maybe if she at least tried, especially with me, a separate person than the "annoying person" who called 3 times, how dare they! Especially when I still treated her kind and considerate, but hey, once I found out she was given the ok by the boss to act this way, I couldn't possibly have expected her to be anything, but what she was...... My guess is, it isn't like this all the time, I hope it isn't like this ever again in the future, for anyone else, but I know I'll never go back there again,...
