Stopped in Cody for the night on our way to Yellowstone and decided to grab dinner here since it was close to our hotel. We first walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar but ended up leaving after a few minutes when no one acknowledged us even with bar staff standing right in front of us avoiding eye contact with us. We should have known not too go back but after checking out the downtown area we decided to give it a go. This time we sat outside on the patio. The waiters were definitely busy which was understandable - we witnessed them booking it from table to table and back in. Our waitress was friendly but that's the only saving grace for this place. We ordered the combo appetizer and some drinks, the appetizer was decent and my mixed drink was good, however my husband ordered a bottled beer and it came to him warm (not exactly pleasant, but not a huge deal). We also both ordered a cheeseburger and unfortunately they came out dry, it was edible but we would've had better from a fast food joint. My husband and I both ordered a second drink and were disappointed to find that the beer had a "best enjoyed by" date of October 2017. While waiting for our bill we witnessed a couple that had been there for awhile walk out on their bill after not being attended to since they got there. My husband had asked to speak to a manager and we waited for at least 30 min before we finally were visited again by a staff member. We were informed they had left for the day and we were, to be fair, not charged for the beer past its "best by" date. Overall... Extremely disappointed by the food and speed of service.
TL;DR - better off getting a burger from Wendy's down the street, bottled beer served years after "best by" date, service ridiculously slow. Go...
Read moreThe Silver Dollar is the place to be after 9:00 pm. As a matter of fact, it's the only place you can be until 2:00 am, because there are not many businesses open in Cody Wyoming after eight or nine o clock. That's especially true during the winter months.
The barstaff are great, and so is the food. A descent menu for burgers and sandwiches and other things to. Make sure you order the onion rings because they are simply delicious. Enjoy The free wi-fi and live music on the weekends. Seperate dance and live music bar and bathrooms to ease the congestion, and an outdoor area that has plenty of seating in the courtyard off the sidewalk and the street.
If you're hankering for a beer, or maybe a shot, your feet are calling you to the dance floor, or you're feeling the desire to shoot some pool, you can't do much better than The Silver Dollar Bar and Grill located on the main drag right through town. Hope to see you there if you're feeling alright, especially if your day left you feeling uptight because The Silver Dollar will...
Read moreI wanted to go here on a Wednesday around 11:45 pm. I travel for work and wanted to have a drink before I went to bed. The website said they are open until 2am. I walk up to the door and it looked closed but I could see people inside so I opened the door. Everyone looked at me as if I was not supposed to be there. I walked up to the bar, passing all of the seats that have already been neatly placed up in the tables (as if they were closed). I asked the bartender if they were open and she said “no sorry, I called last call 5 minutes ago” she told me that she had only seen 4 customers (appeared to be friends or regulars) in the last hour so they needed to shut down. Those people seemed to be having a good enough time. I’m speculating at this point, but I would bet it’s not their last drinks here tonight. I’m disappointed that they weren’t open as advertised. They also lost future business...
