Hey y’all! Now I am by NO MEANS a picky person when it comes to restaurants. I make $40,000 a year serving tables at high end restaurants.... this is not one of those restaurants. Priced like one and offers all the same high end plates as one would, but did not make it happen tonight.
Our experience started with a rather one foot out the door waitress telling us we were going to get sat right away but that it’s be a 30 minute wait until we could order. Then, when we said that was fine, she looked at me (24 next month) and my brother (19) if anyone was under 18. As we also said that was not an issue, we sat down and were quickly greeted by a completely different server. A wonderful server!
We sat down at 9:20 and were waiting for our 2 orders of mystery ribs (this STEAKHOUSE does NOT show what style of ribs you’re ordering on their menu) and a 16 ounce prime rib, we saw a total of 8 tables (about a total of 20 people) come in and were turned around because the restaurant suddenly stopped serving food. Now keep in mind, it’s a saloon and the bartender is still very capable of still serving drinks considering you just missed out on approximately 600-900 dollars in food sales. All of the families were told that the kitchen is closed and they’re not seating anyone else at this time.... this is 40 minutes before the place closes their doors.
When the plates came we clearly realized we made a mistake in ordering the ribs and could tell they were spare ribs.... at a steakhouse. My father and brother could NOT break ONE rib off from the others as they were completely stuck to each other. My father ended up having to SCRAPE the meat off of the tops of the bones in order to get any substance. After realizing they were spares, we asked the waiter what style of ribs they were and she went and asked what seemed to be a supervising manager at the bar what style of ribs they were, to which his reply was “idk, I’d have to check.” He didn’t move a muscle and our wonderful waiter just walked off and went to the kitchen to figure it out. She came back with the good ol’ answer we were expecting... SPARE RIBS :’) we told her it was completely fine and we should have asked when ordering them and that all was good.
About ten minutes later I asked the sweet waitress what happened tonight as far as the early closing time and she said that the kitchen just got slammed and couldn’t keep up with the rush. She said they were giving them a break and apparently the rest of the night off since the whole place was closing once my family left. Now there were only 5 tables in here when my family walked in and we were very clearly the last table to get to eat. And we walked in 45 minutes to close. So I found that really sad and extremely worried for them as far as being able to handle the rest of their season if they couldn’t keep up on a mid June, Saturday night dinner rush. They do know there’s a popular bike rally that comes around here in August correct?
After my family gets up to leave I stood up and started to head towards the bar to talk to what looked like the kitchen manager or supervising manager for the shift. I wanted to show them how the ribs WOULD NOT, COULD NOT, and DID NOT pull off from the others. Buttttt my wonderful server was already talking to me and bussing my table ANDDDD the manager was serving a shot to one of a couple employees drinking at the bar. You know, the ones that were “overwhelmed” and couldn’t handle the Saturday night rush apparently?? To me it just looked like everyone on the staff was ready to get the hell out of there and start hitting the bars since they got an early close night . Haha I literally couldn’t believe how ridiculous this picture looked and just left without complaining as I could see how the owner responds to negative reviews online and is a complete b** about his service and empathy towards frustrated customers. So, with that being said, I’m glad some people got great meals and incredible service and could give a wonderful review, I just really wish I could have...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews after we left it seems you either have a fantastic or terrible experience at this place. Sadly, we were the latter. We were greeted at the door with several open tables and a gentleman who asked if we had reservations. We did not. He said, "Well I guess I've had enough cancelations I can fit you in." He pointed us to a dirty table. We asked if we could have the clean one behind it. He rolled his eyes and agreed.
Then our server greeted us yawning at our table telling us how tired she was. Later she started slurring her words and I had to ask her to repeat herself several times as I couldn't understand her. We ordered and had a great cherry hard cider based upon her recommendation. We ordered and both wanted a baked potato which we were told they were out of. When my dining companion ordered, the server said, "Don't say ribs." Thankfully we didn't want ribs or we would have been doubly disappointed. It took 15ish minutes to get our soup. We both ordered steak, mine a filet and my dining companions a ribeye. My steak came out and I literally had to saw through it with my steak knife. I thought the shape looked odd for a filet, then when I cut into it I thought I had probably gotten the baseball cut sirloin by mistake. No big deal, mistakes happen. So we flagged down our server and asked if I had gotten the wrong cut by mistake. Her reply was that the cook is really good with steaks. I ate two bites, thinking maybe it was just the ends were tough. However when I cut into the next section of the steak it was equally as tough. My dining companion tried to cut it as well and agreed that it was exceptionally tough. We flagged the server down again and told her the steak was exceptionally tough. She rolled her eyes and asked what I wanted. It was late at this point, so I asked her to take it off the bill as I wasn't interested in waiting for another steak and that maybe I would order dessert. She took my steak away, returned and said the cook said again it was the right steak. I asked if it would be taken off the bill as I had only two bites. She snorted and said, "No!" We asked to speak to the manager at this point. She went over to him and they spoke for a long time. He rolled his eyes and then went to I presume the kitchen. When he returned he told us most of the steak was gone and gave us an excuse about Covid making steaks tough and said he would take $5 off the bill. I asked to see the steak again as I had only eaten two bites. He replied, "Look I saw what I saw and you ate the (2) shrimp." My dining companion explained that we were not interested in scamming them and asked for at least the price of the steak to be removed. He replied, "I'll go talk to the kitchen." When he returned he said he would take $10 off my $30 entree. At this point we were tired of fighting and agreed. When the served returned, we asked for a paper copy of our bill as we would be paying in cash. She huffed and said she had to go to the bar for cash, never acknowledging our request for a paper bill. I asked to see the screen which she did show me. We paid in cash and left. I am always a 20+ percent tipper but was so frustrated by being treated so poorly and accused of things that I didn't do that we did not leave a tip.
