Before I state my reasons for my low review, let me just say that I was a waitress for 4 years so I know how hard it is but this experience was one I have never had before and it greatly upset me and my group. My family of 6 and I were in last night (March 30,2018) for our mother’s birthday and had Cindy (older, blonde woman) as a waitress. We arrived at 6:30 and while they were somewhat busy, the way Cindy constructed her service was unacceptable.
Every time she would come to the table for any reason, if one person would ask for something she would turn around before they even finished speaking so she never checked on anyone else. Multiple times we never received things because she didn’t care to stay at the table long enough for us to even get a chance to ask for them. We had to ask several other employees that we flagged down for things like water, a wine list, hot sauce.
It would take her 15-20 minutes to bring items that we actually requested from her to the table. We arrived at 6:30pm and left at 9, and not because of the chefs. They had our food out quickly (except one entree that we assume was forgotten about) once we actually got to place the order with Cindy. She assumed we had more people coming to our table so she didn’t even take some of our drink orders or food order until 7:10pm. She wasn’t even around for us to wave down. She treated all of her tables with the same don’t care attitude.
Several of us ordered salads, as they come with some of the entrees. I saw her write them down but then come back 15 minutes later to ask if 2 of the 3 people who ordered them wanted to order them. They of course re-ordered them and then they proceeded to come out, all except one (the birthday girls salad). Cindy never returned to our table for us to ask her where it was. Other people ran out our food when it was done and they were in such a rush that we just asked Cindy (when we saw her 30 minutes later) to take the salad off the bill. When she explained it isn’t an extra charge and offered to box it up for us, we asked if we could swap it for a birthday dessert as we wouldn’t be able to eat the salad the next few days. She simply stated no with no reason. So I asked, how about a comp on the entree (Buffalo Chicken Wrap) that was brought out 15 minutes after everyone else’s that we had to beg another server for, or maybe the 2 drinks we asked for 25 minutes ago that never came? She simply stated, “no, we don’t do that here.” And then laughed and said “This isn’t Perkins. You’d get a cookie there.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What that says to me is that Cindy and Snows Tavern do not care about customer service. Worst waitress I’ve ever had and I NEVER give less than 20% as I know what it is like to have that profession but we could NOT give her that much as she did not deserve it.
Myself and my family will never return because of Cindy’s attitude and rudeness. Food was typical bar food so perfectly fine and the lake creates a cute atmosphere but if they want to make this place a ‘go-to’ for the area, they need to properly train...
Read moreWe had a decent size group 10 people. The server was very accommodating. He recommended 2 areas of tables that could accommodate our group as it was seat yourself no hostess. We sat on the patio, beautiful day. (Make sure everyone has sunglasses) The server made recommendations and thanked us for being there. We ordered a lot of appetizers. Nearly every appetizer but two rounds of each item along with Margaritas. I was surprised we enjoyed all the appetizers. The loaded potato wedges were excellent, the prim beef sliders yummy, onion straws great, mozzarella cheese sticks were standard but really good, spicy cheese curds have a lot of kick lol, pizza bombs and pretzels were excellent too. We had other appetizers but I can't remember the rest, no complaints as they were all great. Our group was having margaritas, they loved the margaritas! I asked for a Virgin Margarita but they couldn't make one. Totally understandable especially if this establishment maybe has premixed margaritas. I asked if they had any nonalcoholic beverages like mocktails. The server checked but the bartender said no. I decided to get my classic go to for nonalcoholic beverages when nothing else is available... Shirley Temple (sprite and grenadine) The server came back and apologized but the bartender refused to make it, they don't make nonalcoholic drinks here. I ordered water instead. Establishment was slightly busy but not packed, attendance wise building was 1/2 empty. I was a little perplexed but it is what it is. I'm easy going. We had a great evening. Food and beverages were good, server was absolutely fantastic. My only suggestion is to at least add one or 2 nonalcoholic beverages for adults. There are medical reasons why some people can't drink alcohol. It can make some people feel embarrassed by not even accommodating a simple request like a nonalcoholic Shirley temple beverage (sprite and grenadine). Whether the Grenadine is going in a mixed alcohol drink which costs more or just Sprite the person ordering, if an adult, is still a...
Read moreWent here on Superbowl Sunday to meet some friends; wasn't my first choice (due to previous experiences). My friends were there first; they moved from the bar (party of 2) to a table (party of 6 adults+1 child). They weren't crowded, had no real Superbowl specials, no enthusiasm from the staff. It took so long for someone to come to our table that I walked to the bar to order & ordered some drinks. A few minutes later the manager, Eric, came over to our table & instead of asking us to close out any possible bar tab, he made a big production of "how we moved from the bar to a table & we shouldn't go to the bar to order." #1 His breath was horrible (sorry but it was)! #2 Your establishment just went from a party of 2 to a party of 6 (more money on what was obviously a slow day)! #3 As a manager you were wasting a perfectly good occasion to make more money & bring in more business by not having any specials! #4 If I can't get service after sitting there more than 10 minutes & you're not crowded, I am going to have to go to the bar to get my drinks Eric!! Next the service during the rest of our time there was terrible ☹️ Several different servers; couldn't get their attention; asked for things that they just didn't bring back (extra napkins, a to go box). I piled dirty plates on the extra chair at our table & several staff (to include the manager) came & went numerous times until Eric finally picked them up! We actually had a conversation at our table about how long the dirty plates would sit there! Whoever is overall in charge here needs to get it together; have a talk w/the staff about hygiene, attention to detail, customer service. I could go on but I think you get the picture! It was great when they had taco Sunday there, friendly staff & people who cared about customer service! Won't be returning any time soon!!! And it's literally just a few miles from...
