My local Meijer was having problems with their printing machine in the Photo Department, so I sent my job (Christmas cards) to be printed at this location. A day goes by with no confirmation email that the job was completed, so I call. The lady working informs me that their printer is also down but is getting fixed as we speak. Later that night (around 11:15pm) I finally get the confirmation email that the job was printed. Next day (2 days now if you are keeping track) I drive up there (remember this is not my closer, local store) only to find out that it has indeed not been printed and that the email was sent by mistake. Apparently they didn't have the right size paper in stock to print it. Frustrated, I take the rest of my purchases home. When I get home, there's a voicemail waiting for me from the lady who was working there saying that they found a pack of the correct paper and were printing the cards right then. She even said that she tried to catch me on my way out of the store, which I find interesting because the lines were long and slow due to the holidays so I was in the store for awhile after talking to her. Anyway, I can't drive back up there the same day, so I go back up there the next day (day 3). I pick up my order (yay!) and head home. The next morning (day 4), I get the order out to start working on our Christmas cards and realize that, although I ordered and paid for 30, they only printed 15. I got 30 envelopes though, so yay for getting that part right. I called the store to ask about either getting a refund for the other 15 or having them printed and another worker said he could print them within the hour (so this is another trip to the store I had to make) and he also said that the other worker (lady) simply didn't know which paper to use in the first place which is why things were so delayed. This has been, by far, the worst Meijer experience I...
Read moreI mainly shop Meijer for their selection of artist/office/school supplies and adult coloring books, which use to be quite good. However they have now gotten ridiculously expensive and are sorely lacking in variety. There have not been new art products or office supply products (pens/markers/pencils/paints) added in quite some time, and they carry the same adult coloring books over and over instead of adding the new releases to their stock. The prices of their books has also gotten exorbitant compared to other stores, and the magazine selection for coloring magazines has removed most of my favorites such as Designing Colors, Flying Colors, etc. And they now carry a bunch of Farting Cats, Magnificent Creatures, and Cats and Dogs coloring magazines. On the plus side they have started carrying Colouring Heaven Magazine out of the UK which previously I could only find at JoAnne Fabrics. As for the remainder of what Meijer sells, I do tend to buy my wine there, it's reasonably priced and a large selection, their bakery has great pastries, and some of their groceries are better priced than other stores. But the bulk of it is more expensive than say Kroger or Walmart. Clothing is way too expensive for the quality of the clothes, even on sale the markup is ridiculous. I almost never but clothing or shoes there unless it's an already clearances item and there is 30-50% off the clearance price, and even then it's still higher than what it's worth. I'm not saying don't shop there, occasionally you can find some good deals, but I would shop around before going there, chances are you'll find what you're looking for...
Read moreToday being Memorial Day, I decided to go to Meijer to get some patriotic clothes and fireworks. When I went to check out, I had to wait for the clerk to check my ID. Once I gave him my ID, he said he could not accept it because it expired on my birthday which was last month and all the BMV's have been closed due to Corona. I explained to the gentleman that the Governor of Ohio declared drivers license that expire during the pandemic still valid until 90 days after the state emergency has ended or December of 2020. The associate then called a manager who I waited 20 minutes for and didn't show up. My 3 year old was becoming impatient and touching everything so at this point, I complained again. He threw up his hands and told me it wasn't his problem, he then suspended my transaction and told me to go wait in line at the customer service desk and take my issue up with them. After seeing the 10 plus people in line at customer service, and now being 20 minutes late to my family get together, I started crying out of frustration and just decided to leave the fireworks and buy the clothes. By this time the manager finally showed up, he asked if he could do anything for me? ....I told him to properly train his employees. His empty apology left a lot to be desired. I won't be returning to this...
