WE bought a lay boy 3 years ago. We previously had a lazy boy recliner & it held us for 10 years we were VERY happy with that one now 14 years old. & we got rid of it 2 years ago. We got a rocker recliner and were reassured it was safest, up to date....etc. You know the 'drill.' Well our first problem was the VERY loud noise when I got in our out of chair. I am not a large person and the chair should be fine. We got excuses," it was our floor", "it was how I sat in it", "it was how I used the lever"!!!! Finally "teeth' started coming out on the floor! Our cat found a few & I could hear them hit the floor. They replaces he teeth. It constantly was unstable. It would throw me forward when I tried to release the lever. More calls, this time they had a part sent to the house and it was to completely replace the section that controlled the rocker/recliner. It was better for some time. The load noise alarmed not just me but the cat & my husband in the next room, thought I fell ! I called to resolve this latest problem While I was sitting in it I would feel the chair give way with "chur chunk" sound & It would collapse or only 1/2 of the foot part would give way. Then a few week ago there was a VERY LOUD NOISE THAT MADE ME JUMP & TRIED TO GET OUT OF THE CHAIR & AWAY FROM IT! OUR CAT RAN...I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING AT FIRST THEN IN THE BACK? A PIECE OF SOLID STEEL ABOUT AS ROUND AS A PEN BROKE, THEN TORN OUT THROUGH THE FABRIC IF THE BACK OF THE CHAIR OR IT WOULD CAME OUT IN THE FRONT & INTO MY BACK. Thank God what ever gave way caused this piece of solid steel to be pushed though the chair. I don't know why. I was sitting still watching TV if I remember, or reading. It really terrified me to think what could have happened. My husband came in when he heard it & we took photographs right away. We are not the type to sue. I was in shock. My husband has been sick so I was getting him to appts. etc. but when I called the only person who took this seriously was the receptionist! I called the Colerain Ave store. She tried to get the Manager to speak to me but he apparently did not consider it serious enough to talk to me, she told him but he was not concerned about his merchandise, we bought it in his store. We paid good money for that chair!! They treat you great until they have you money. He told her to tel me to call "Comfort Card? or Comfort Corp" & gave me a # she is the only one who seemed to be at all concerned about what happened & the seriousness. So I tried to call this new # who said they wanted to come out and look at, TAKE PICTURES and decide what caused this to happen. Then they would decide what they would do. If it is a fixable situation? Then WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. We have had it 3 years and at least twice that number of service problems..... and they think we were going to supposedly FIX it and HOPE it doesn't happen again. We are APPALLED at the lack of support & help. There is little or NO concern for the fact that I (or anyone who sat in the chair) could have been seriously hurt. I cut my arm hen I was trying so slide it to take the picture and God saw to it I only gashed my arm on the piece of the steel. SO I just wanted to want others to not let things go. I NEVER THOUGHT WE WOULD BE TREATED LIKE THIS OR WE WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A LESS EXPENSIVE CHAIR. We have learned our lesson. It cost us but we will be more careful before spending that much on any kind of chair or funrniture. We never thought something like this would happen but we live & learn. We pray all comes out OK. We hear about these kind of things but never thought it would be us. I am praying this is resolved to our satisvaction it is not like we are aking for anything outregious. I do hope it is taken care of without any long ordeal. We want to be treated fairly. I hope this helps others in dealitngs with any company. We also pray we will be dealt with fairly. In Gods ...
Read morepurchased a recliner on 2/7/2016 and have been trying to get my issue resolved since it was delivered to me on 2/11/2016 in which noone called me prior to delivery to let me know when it was going to be there. The chair arrived and was in poor condition, the material is very loose on the arms, in the seat and on the foot part of the chair, I contacted the store then was referred to customer care because they said I cannot return the chair, I have been in a vicious run around since then. They sent out a repair man even though I said that I should not have to have a new chair repaired he can out on 2/17/2016 said that lazy boy won't pay me this much to do all of these repairs. I heard nothing from lazboy, I called again on 2/23/2016 and was informed the parts were ordered with no one communicating with me the customer, I said that was unacceptable and was transferred to a supervisor, she agreed that it was too much wrong for a repair and said Simone would be in touch and I could pick out a new chair. I called again on 2/26/2016 after hearing nothing and expressed that I am not picking out a new chair and wish to return it. I was told to go to the store that they could handle things about my return, I went to the store on Colerain ave. In Cincinnati, Ohio on 2/28/2016 and was told they have no information in regards to my case and that they do not accept returns at the store level. I called customer care on 2/29/2016 and there was no updates on my case do I filed a dispute with my bank as I have been trying to get this resolved and all I want to do is return the chair. I will not purchase anything else from lazy boy, it dies not live up to its name, not in product and certainly not in customer service. I am going to contact the better business bureau as well and also my local news in Cincinnati because the average public should be made aware about lazy boys poor service and poor quality. I am reaching out in the manner to once again try to just return...
Read moreFirst off, let me say that everyone in the store was nice and my overall experience was good, not great. Also, I’ve made a few purchases other furniture at lazy boy stores, so this wasn’t something new to me. Alright, I came into the store looking for a nice power recliner. I decided on the Mateo with all the power options and I was ready to purchase that day. However, I always check online to price match because this stuff’s expensive and I’m not rich by any means. Well, I found the same exact chair on Wayfair for like $300-400 less than the store’s price and $200 less than the store’s sales manager offered. The sales manager didn’t like that the pictures on the Wayfair listing didn’t show the wireless remote even though the description clearly stated there was a wireless remote. They ended up not price matching and I ended up saving $500-600 just ordering the thing on Wayfair. It arrived a lot faster than previous orders from La-Z-Boy and it was the same exact chair. I know it’s the same because I have two of them now. First one was purchased at this La-Z-Boy store and the second purchased on Wayfair. I still give the store 4 stars because my experience was good and idk how much control the actual sales manager has with pricing. This is just...
