So I will say that the portions are enough. But for around 15 dollars for a bowl of noodles, 6 dollars for a thin cup of jasmine tea, and 10 dollars for 8 dumplings, "enough" might not be enough.
It is here though.
Starting off with the spicy beef noodle soup. The noodles are so bouncy and fresh, the soup is so rich, and the meat is cooked to perfection. I don't think you could find better noodles in the major cities like Houston or Dallas, or even cities like SF or Vancouver. You will have to try very hard to find noodles better than this restaurant, and I don't say that lightly.
The dumplings actually look and taste like they were made in house fresh. It was like I was at my mom's place and she cooked fresh dumplings in the morning. The pieces of shrimp were perfectly sized and cooked to perfection, with the perfect amount of heat content, and the perfect amount of bite. They were delicious.
The jasmine tea is really good as well, although I wish it was a little cheaper. Not too sweet, and the balance of ingredients is perfect. I appreciate that the owner didn't add a whole convoluted menu list of drinks and food and just kept it simple and quality. The quality of the food and drink here really is top notch.
I spent 30 dollars here. I don't regret any of it. Food this fresh and delicious at a restaurant is few and far in between. I respect this place a lot, and I encourage you to give this place a try for genuine, authentic, delicious food. One thing I would love to see added to the menu is a crispy beef pancake roll. That's sort of my go-to side when I go out to eat noodles.
There is real passion and artistry here. Restaurants like this are very rare and should be cherished and...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant about seven times before and have always enjoyed the food. The dumplings are consistently delicious, fresh, and well-made, and I’ve never had any complaints about the quality.
However, on my most recent visit, I had a surprisingly disappointing experience with the service. When I first tried to order noodles and asked about substituting beef for pork, the server repeatedly said, “I don’t know,” without offering any help. He also told me to “have it as is,” even though the menu clearly stated substitutions were available. When I politely clarified that I preferred beef, his attitude suddenly changed and became noticeably rude.
From that point on, he was dismissive and unprofessional. When I tried to order extra dumplings, he tossed the menu onto the table instead of handing it to me. I also asked whether the seasonal dumplings were available, and again I got “I don’t know” — and he walked away, leaving me unsure whether my order was even placed.
Later, when I asked for a to-go box and a sauce lid, he dropped them on the table without a word and walked off. This behavior was extremely surprising given my consistently positive experiences here before.
I also want to say that I genuinely respect the lady who makes the dumplings — she does an incredible job and the food quality has always been top-notch. My feedback is only about the service on this particular visit, not the food or her hard work.
The food remains fantastic, but the service during this visit was a real letdown. I hope this was just a one-time issue, because I’ve truly enjoyed this place in the past and would like to continue...
Read moreBest Chinese food in the Brazos Valley by far. We tried the boiled celery and pork dumplings first and we were not disappointed, as they were hot, fresh and the homemade dough was packed with flavor, I would definitely order them again. The Burning Noodles were also very good and had the perfect amount of spice to them, highly recommended for an entree.
Everything was great and came out perfect but the star of the show were the chili oil wontons. The chili oil sauce was seasoned well and the wontons themselves were soft, with the right amount of filling, seasoning and flavor. We also tried the BBQ pork and glazed chicken with rice, excellent dishes that I would easily go back for. 10/10. This place rules and I hope more people come in and try it. You can tell a lot of care is put into each dish and I love that there is a woman rolling dumplings by hand at the front of the restaurant, very cool to see and it adds that extra homemade flare to the whole aesthetic. I look forward to returning many times just to try everything else...
