Let me start off by saying we aren’t from the area and dropped by to bring our kiddos here because my husband had bought me one of the mango shaved ice before, and it was good so I thought “hey let’s take the kids, they’ll love it!” - we all walked out very disappointed. We grabbed the shaved ice again and a boba milk drink, and $30 in tokens for the claw machines. My kiddos were so excited because we often go to Houston for the claw machines and they always walk out with a bag full of stuffies and toys. Let me get to the point; the machines seemed rigged (again, we have experience with claw machines and I’ve loved them since I was a child), all the rubbers have been removed to make them harder and they won’t even remotely move anything, we were almost done with our coins and didn’t have a single thing to show for it so I gave in when my daughter showed me one of the spin gatcha machines for a My Melody figurine- you guessed it that was bad as well bc she got a cheap little Dino in a clear ball so she’s obviously disappointed and that’s when I notice a small paper printed on the machine that says something about you not getting what is picture (which was My Melody) mind you some children can’t read, meanwhile my husband saw a machine with Pokemon cards and immediately went to go try his luck.. his bubble burst when I went up to him and told him what was happening and he realizes by opening a pack his Pokemon cards were also fake. I was very upset at this point but I kept my cool and asked him to please go show them, explain the situation and ask for a refund. They said they couldn’t give refunds, and offered to give a stuffed animal from the front..the problem is I have 3 kiddos with me and the $30 should of been more than enough for all 3, so I told him try to take all 3 and see if y'all can figure it out. They tried to make it right and ended up letting them grab 2 things from the front of the store - a fake labubu that was priced at real labubu amounts ($20), and a Pikachu ice cream cone stuffy (that had a Hello Kitty tag?) and broke as soon as we got home for $15.99 I think. Lastly, my kids fell out of their chairs while we were eating the shaved ice, at least 4 times (and no that doesn’t usually happen anywhere we go). All in all it left a very sour taste in our mouths and they don’t give refunds even if you show them they’re doing things wrong. Won’t...
Read moreMe and my fiance come here occasionally for fun at the claw machines, no major complaints before today. Drinks do not compare to competing boba places in town, but I loved having a fun claw machine place nearby for something new around here.
Today we’ve decided we won’t be coming back, I was actually having a bit of good luck winning some pokemon cards from a drop machine, only to realize after we left they were all fake very cheap flimsy blurry cardboard imitating official packaging, upon closer inspection there were many typos on the wrapping and I was infuriated for being outright scammed. We spent about 15$ each to have fun at various claws and I won about 3 card packs and a small dog plush, money I can’t get back and would’ve been better spent outright buying official cards. I was extremely disappointed as the staff had multiple opportunities to inform me they were fake as it got stuck when I won a couple times and they had to open the case.
0 stars if I could, I know the nature of claw machines is very luck based and the machines are typically tampered with, that I already am well aware of and did not think much of, but advertising real products to give junk is outright scamming and unforgivable.
I had one other time I got upset because a twist machine advertised something completely different and much more appealing than what would actually pop out, with no indication that the photo on the machine was not what was inside, I decided to ignore this and wish I had cut my losses then. It just feels icky to be taken advantage of even if the money spent wasn’t a large amount. Play at...
Read more[Updated after messaging the owner and receiving a refund.]
I’m updating my review to reflect that, after I reached out privately to explain the situation, the owner did respond, apologized, and issued a refund. I appreciated the kind tone in that exchange and the fact that the refund was eventually given.
I’m still leaving this review to help other allergy families make informed decisions.
My daughter and I both have dairy allergies. I explained this clearly while ordering, and asked detailed questions about every component of the shaved ice bowl. I was told it was dairy-free. However, after one bite, I could tell it was topped with condensed milk—something not disclosed by the employee or listed on the menu. When I asked to see the bottle, it clearly said “Contains Milk.”
I asked for a refund at that point but was told no; only a remake was offered. It wasn’t until I messaged the owner once I was home that a refund was approved if I was willing to come back up, which my husband did for me and collected the refund.
While I do appreciate the eventual resolution, I was disappointed that their public response to my original review made it sound like they immediately remade the item and issued a refund upon learning of the allergy—which is not what happened.
I hope this review raises awareness about the importance of food allergy training and clear ingredient disclosure. Thankfully our reaction wasn’t severe, but for others it could have been life-threatening. I do believe the business wants to do better, and I hope they continue to improve...
