I have loved Uptown Cheapskate in the past and have spent hundreds of dollars there. I run a small reselling business of my own and went to their dollar days sale to purchase some inventory for my shop. I was happy to find a pair of Lululemon leggings for only $10. It was odd to me that they were on the sale because there was nothing wrong with them. I thought maybe they just couldn't sell them because they were a less desirable color. When i brought them home and looked at them, it was very obvious they were fake from the tag. There was a misspelled word on the tag and the font was off-centered. This may be ok considering they may have accidentally bought them from someone and didn't realize they were fake, but they were marked with a "New Apparel" tag which means they were bought wholesale and guaranteed to be authentic. It is illegal to sell fake designer items. I by no means wanted to cause a fuss about this. All I wanted was a simple explanation and for my $10 back. That's all. I went by the store for the first time and explained my situation to a cashier. While nice and kind, she told me the manager wasn't there and that I was going to have to come back another time. I understood this and politely thanked her. I went back a few days later and spoke to another girl who appeared to be higher up in authority. I explained to her how I could tell they were fake and showed photos of authentic Lululemon tags vs the ones I got and she agreed they looked fake. She took my number and insured I would receive a call from a manager, but that I "may" be able to get my money back. I knew all sales were final with the sale, but I thought the fact that they were illegally selling non-authentic Lululemon items labeled as "New Apparel" would override that. I waited a week and never received a call. I went back for a third time and the person at the cashier simply told me all sales were final and that it didn't matter if they were fake. At that point I gave up and am now writing this review. I never wanted for anything negative to come from this and just wanted a simple explanation and a refund, but after 3 times, I didn't even get to speak with a manager. Photo's show item. "Waistband" is misspelled, writing is off-center, and Lululemon logo is off. They're fake. All I wanted was an ounce of respect...
Read moreUpdate: I do not know where or if they tried to reach out but I have not been refunded and waited a whole month. Unsatisfied with customer service. I am a first-generation student fully dependent on scholarships to go to A&M and sometimes resell clothes in order to earn my own pocket money and decrease the load of loans on my parents. I went in to the store and bought a couple of stuff but the cashier made a mistake and charged me for pants that my friend also ended up having to pay for. The same pair was charged to both of us and when i tried to go in to fix the issue the girl that attended me pinned the mistake on me because I mentioned that we were trying to get the clothes "split" to who they really belonged to after finding out each item had different discounts so we could get the offers the store told us about. She kept bringing up that i was trying to split the transaction but that was just my broken english because I did not know what other way to explain it(I did not explain this to her because it is obviously embarassing but instead tried to get her to understand that there was not any funny business behind the mistake from our part). The owner was there so she asked him what to do and he did not return the money to the card because of their "exchange policy" even thought it was not actually an exchange because they were not supposed to charge me with it. Now I have to find a way to make up the unnecessary expense before my credit card charge is due because these pants obviously are not with me because my friend was the actual one that bought them. I had to come on a gap from my classes and travel from campus to here only to find myself disappointed with the outcome. I have come before and honestly the buying experience is great so I was very sad that the girl blamed me and my friend for putting all our stuff together even though we were just trying to make use of all of the discounts the store provides. I am not trying to shame her because I understand this was a weird mistake that she does not usually come across and obviously she does not owe me anything because she was just doing her job but I truly wish she would have tried a little more to be comprehensive since she is young so I would've hoped she seen my...
Read moreThis was our first visit to this store and we were sadly disappointed. When we arrived we were not greeted then when we went to the counter to ask about selling clothes we were completely ignored. I tried to get the girls attention that was standing under the “sell” sign and she looked at me and then turned around and walked off. I stood there and waited a while until she decided to come back. We asked what season of clothing they were buying and she said “everything, it just has to be washed because they put it out immediately and it can not look worn”. We brought in items that we purposefully went and bought this morning and left the tags on just to see what happened. Then a different girl went through the items while we waited 2 hours. When they told us they couldn’t buy even the stuff with tags the girl said “we are having to be very selective on what we buy right now, would you like to take these clothes or leave them here?” That made not a bit of sense and totally contradicted what the other girl said. Why would I give you my clothing and shoes including brand new items. Then she proceeds to say she would double my points and give me a $5 in-store cash. Hello, no thank you. This store is a complete waist of your time. We walked around the store a little while waiting and they definitely did not have many in fashion items. All in all, we wouldn’t have waisted 2 hours of our day if only the first girl would’ve been honest. It seems this store is mostly ran by college students which...
