Saigonista Banh Mi — Restaurant in College Station

I saw this out in the parking lot and ended up seeing lots of people talking about it through Facebook and decided to stop by and give it a try one afternoon for lunch! This is such an awesome place and I highly recommend it! I had the crispy pork banh mi, fries with garlic butter, salted coffee, and the tofu pudding and all of it was all freshly sliced, cooked and delicious! I spoke with the lady that owns the truck and her story is awesome; she just graduated from A&M and renovated and hand painted the truck, and opened this up about a month ago! She is very passionate about her business and I really appreciate the fact this is a local business that even closes Mon/Tues so that she has the time to prep everything since it's all fresh! This was an awesome lunch spot and every item was delicious. It has been quite some time since I've really enjoyed going somewhere and having a meal that was tasty and flavorful. I am amazed at the quality and service of a food truck in CSTAT, but this was beyond that. The service was polite and fun. We talked casually and there was no hostility despite the rush. The wait was short, yet the food was hot and delicious. My drink was also ice cold and refreshing. I expected good food, but genuinely this was the best sandwich I have ever had. Tender and refreshing in each bite. After we were pleasantly surprised to try a warm pistachio desert that was the perfect end to a great meal. Jesus holy moly this place is so good. Saw an authentic Vietnamese food truck that just popped up and had to try it out. The ingredients, primarily the proteins, are so fresh in the Bahn Mi! Bread is warm and crispy and everything just melts into your mouth. Worth the stop and the price is perfect for Texas’ economy. I would pay higher but I’m from NYC.
