I called ahead of time for their vegan options and to put my name down for the call ahead seating. When my friend and I got there, our names weren't on the list, however, they were nice enough to seat us in less than 10 mins.
Once seated we ordered almost immediately. Our waitress was polite, respectful, and professional. I would recommend asking for Faith for your future waitress. I ordered the hummus plate for $8.50 which comes with feta, kalamata olives, and flat bread. I personally told the waitress to remove the feta (vegan). When the food came out I was given cucumbers and carrots instead of the flat bread. When I asked the waitress why this happened, she said she had found out the flat bread wasn't vegan. I was really upset because I ended up paying $10.20 for hummus and veggies, when I could have gone to HEB and bought it for less than $3.00. The manager didn't come out, nor did my waitress apologize or offer another meal. The hummus tasted decent. I would recommend the artichoke and spinach over the garlic.
My friend ordered the ribeye steak with garlic mashed potatoes, the mac & cheese, and a side parmesan salad. Her food was tasty and fresh. Her order/bill also had issues. Our waitress had told her she could switch or substitute the side order with another of her choosing without a charge. At the end when her bill came out (given by another waitress), the restaurant had charged her with three sides plus the entrée. Her bill was more than $40 for one person.
It gets worse. Unfortunately our waitress left for the night without informing us and we ended up with another girl. For the sake of her future, I'll leave her name out of this review. She was extremely rude and quick to get us out of there. When my friend asked for a to go box, the waitress threw it on her plate. She didn't refill our drinks or asked us if we needed anything. She was quick to leave the table when we asked for something. This restaurant is lacking good customer service.
I personally wouldn't come back here being vegan as they don't have options a their food is over priced (vegan or non-vegan). With all this being said, the restaurant's atmosphere is adorable and a great place for date night, celebrations, or parties. The restaurant and the restrooms were both clean...
Read moreService was terrible. Never once have I had such a bad experience with little to no service. Our waitress started off by taking our drink orders, not once did she write down our drink orders causing for all the running back and forth and couldn’t even remember who had what drink. Rather than asking the table she would randomly pick someone and give them someone else’s drink. This was just the start of the night, im a very patient person so I didn’t say anything about it and wasn’t going to write a post. She then goes on to take all of our orders not writing down everything yet again when our food was brought out she realized that she was missing a plate and didn’t ring it up to which then she just walked away! We had to let her know she forgot a plate and proceeded to walk back to the kitchen area to get it, she said it would be a few minutes…. By the time our whole party got done eating and drinking AND some time his food finally came out. Not once did she check up on our table after this in the span of about an hour and 30. On top of that when we finally received our bill I noticed that %20 gratuity was already added, which is 100% fine IF SHE DID HER JOB. I always tip my servers enough for all the work they put in but if she knew she was already getting payed for our table why such bummy service! If I’m being forced to pay %20 I would expect to receive a %20 tip work. But there’s more ON TOP OF THAT my friend had payed her bill with cash to which she did not receive her change at all, we had to flag down our waiter surprisingly she was around and ask her for her change to which she responded with “it was just like a dollar” so she knew there was change and decided to keep it on top of her already getting the %20???? It honestly surprised me that she’s a server and this facility put her out on the floor in my opinion if you can’t do the job correctly you need to find another carrier. I really want to give this place another shot but that server alone was TERRIBLE to the point I don’t even want to come back. I would not recommend going especially if that girl is...
Read moreWhile visiting College Station recently when one of my kids was attending a Texas A&M sports camp, we started to get hungry. College towns with universities this large usually have a nice assortment of dining options and College Station is no different. We looked around and finally, a restaurant caught our attention: Napa Flats Wood Fired Kitchen.
With wood fired kitchen in the name, I knew this restaurant was likely to serve wood fired pizzas and they do exactly that. I just had to order one and while the decision was a tough one, I finally ordered the barbecue chicken pizza. It was just as amazing as expected, both for its toppings and for its wood- fired crust. My wife and kids ordered pasta, sandwiches, etc and they loved their choices also.
Napa Flats Wood Fired Kitchen has a comfortable atmosphere and has a large amount of seating. The parking lot overflowed with cars when I was there, but lo and behold the inside was larger than expected so there was no wait for a seat. I noticed also that they have an outdoor, garden- style patio. It looks cool, but it was too hot outside for this when I was there, so we stayed inside.
The service at Napa Flats Wood Fired Kitchen is very good and they take care of you from the moment you are seated to the moment you pay the bill. I was quite full from eating my entire pizza solo, but the desserts were too tempting to pass up so I ordered the tiramisu. Not only did it taste divine, it was also presented nicely, situated in the middle of a large plate, surrounded by powdered cocoa.
College towns often have a good deal of eateries and College Station does, indeed, offer many choices for dining. Napa Flats Wood Fired Kitchen is easily one of the best in the area, earning high marks for food, drink, service, and atmosphere. Give them a visit the next time you’re in College Station and taste the difference wood...
