Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Collinsville

Worst experience I've ever had at a Steak n Shake. Our server messed up my order and rang up the wrong burger that was a few bucks more than the double I ordered. Then I had to get up and go to the counter whenever I needed a refill on my drink. When she brought out a single thick patty burger to me with the check, I told her that I had ordered the double steak burger and NOT the prime burger that she rang up. She said that they would get it fixed and after waiting for a whole new burger to be made and the rest of my party had finished eating, they brought out a double prime burger. I figured that they just cooked another big patty and threw it on there for the inconvenience. HOWEVER, once she brought the new check out to me, she had just rang up "add prime patty" on the burger she originally rang up which was another $4 making my meal more than $15 when it should have been only $6! When I asked for a manager and pointed the mistake out to her, she says that they will get that fixed and comes back with a new check where they took off the "add prime patty" and still charged me for the original burger that was more expensive than what I originally ordered! I shouldn't have to pay extra for the server making a mistake! Especially when I had to get and walk to the counter to ask for a refill everytime I needed one! When the other manager came over and looked at it he tells me that they have to charge me for the prime burger cause that's what they served me, even tho that's not what I ordered to begin with! When I protested that, he said that they would have to remake the burger I had already eaten half of and brought me out yet another burger that had the wrong kind of cheese on it 🤦‍♂️ It was honestly a HUGE waste of food cause I was already full from the half a burger I just ate! I would have been just fine with them just fixing their mistake and changing the price to the regular burger. A needless waste of food in my opinion. What happened to people having common sense...

Out of town on a road trip with a group. Thought this would be a good place to stop at. This place is nothing like the one we have back home where you are seated by a worker, get your order and drinks taken by the server as well as getting your food delivered by your server. If you are used to this kind of service, be prepared for a rude awakening if you decide to dine in.

KIOSK Asks for tip when it’s self serve, self clean up after yourself. ( I will gladly smash the NO TIP button. If anything, the customer deserves the tip for having to do it all except cook the food😂 It’s like if McDonald’s asked you for a tip. )

High chair was absolutely disgusting and filthy. I had to wipe it down myself.

Workers call out your name when the food is ready. YOU, the customer, have to get UP and get your food after the kiosk asked you for a tip. As well as throwing away your trash once you’re done. What exactly is the reasoning behind leaving a tip?

As others have mentioned, you have to scan your receipt to be able to dispense your own drink. How ghetto and lazy is that.

2 young female children in the lobby lingering and walking around. I’m assuming they are related to an employee at the restaurant. Unprofessional look for the restaurant.

Women’s bathroom was filthy. As well as tables looked like they hadn’t been wiped down or the floors swept. We were the only ones there in the afternoon so it was not like they were too busy to clean.

Front door had a lockbox. Not a good look when you want to make a first impression.

Okay normally I don’t get upset well about 2 am this morning i was there with my family And there was only one Waitress she had sat us down never asked us if we wanted drinks let alone give us a menu She used a piss poor excuse Of the fact we had the little Menus well we had asked her for a menu to look at she flipped out told us we where not the only People there well to be honest she had helped two men before she even started with us and we where there 10 minutes before them and we had been there already 15 minutes waiting for her to even give us a menu that’s a total of 25 minutes we had waited we where nice there was no need to be so rude and I am going to corporate Over this I work in customer Field I have to wait on People and I HAVE never flipped out on anyone I WILL never come to your place to eat and I will make sure my family from around here knows of how rude she was she needs to look into a job that may make her happy I was absolutely horrifying By how she was I understand the pressure Of being short staffed but if you work in the Customer field you are to be nice not rude and what ever is going on in your life your to close that out so again she should look into A job that is a better fit for her not only that she told a small group it would be 30 to a hour wait there where only 5 people sitting and eating I’ve been to Places that only had one waitress And she takes care up to 10 to 20 people on her own I could keep going all I want I know this won’t be knowledge But if I call Corporate It might help your store find not such a rude waitresses now I understand why you...
