Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Colonial Heights

When we arrived there were a few people at the bar and maybe 4 tables occupied. We stood at the hostess stand for about 5 minutes while waitstaff who were just standing at the bar made eye contact, as well as the bartended but yet made no attwmpt to get the hostess for us. I was getting ready to walk out when finally the hostess who was sitting at a hightop table with her back to us (on her phone) turned around and was like oh... She did not geeet us but but told us just a minute while she walked around for another 5 minutes asking the bartender and wait staff where she should seat us. By now there was a family behind us waiting as well. She finally told us to follow her and sat us at a booth. She was not friendly and did not smile once. Our waitress was a little better, she was at least semi-friendly. Our appetizers came out fairly quickly and were hot and good. However we did not have plates. I asked for plates when we got the apps. We had to sit there for over 5 minutes waiting foe the plates. Our meals came very soon after the apps. My friends meal was mediocre. I ordered the 4 cheese mac n cheese with the honey tenders in it. It came out COLD. The noodles and sauce were cold and the tenders were like room temp. I don't know how that is even possible as fast as our meals came out it should have been hot. Then the waitress left my friend's s card in the back and it took us 5 min to get her attention to twll her we needed the card. My friend is new to the country and have never been to Applebee's. I found myself apologizing for the service we recieved. The restaurant was very dimly lit..almost on the dark side, the tables had crumbs on them. Quite frankly needs a remodel badly. There was staff running in and out of the kitchen to loudly greet what I guess were regular bar customers. The manager was walking around with sunglasses on. I was visiting this area for the week. I always go to my Applebee's at home and have no issues at all. But this one needs to either be shut down or needs an overhaul from the building down to the hostess and kitchen staff. I would NEVER go again and would never...

I absolutely love Applebee's but the Colonial Heights Applebees has ruined it for me... I have given this location several chances and as being a waitress in my past for over 10 years.. this is happened the last three times that I've came to this Applebee's we've been seated by the hostess and then 15 to sometimes 20 minutes passes before we have to ask somebody who are waitresses. And the last time we were in there on the 4th of July!! we sat for almost 26 minutes before that happened and then we were told by the lady that we asked that our waitress was on break#!!!.. and that was it we were just supposed to wait there for a waitress to come off break no apology didn't ask to move it to another section.. the time before I came in there with my husband same thing but this time after a waitress got to our table about 15 minutes after being seated we were told by her that we may not see her a lot because she is super busy tonight... so out of courtesy for the waitress so I know how that can be we went ahead and put our whole order in but we are also drinking drinks from the bar.. Which we watched our drinks come up at the end of the bar and sat there for almost 15 minutes before someone brought them to us mind you that two other waitresses picked up the ticket and looked at it and once they realize it wasn't there as they put it back down and never served our drinks to us.. so by the time we got our drinks they were watered down and my wine was warm.. also at this time the table right behind the hostess stand there was three employees there in uniforms drinking the Bahama Mama's that were on sale for a dollar or whatever watching everybody else in the weeds nobody helping anybody service completely sucking.. I don't understand why this establishment is not had better management or a better lead on the floor Applebee's has so much potential to be a great place but Colonial Heights Applebee's is ruining that... I still wonder if my waitress Brie ever got off break that night to wait on her other tables up there as well.. Lol what a joke you guys really need to get your establishment...

I really really hate bad reviews but unfortunately when you experience what I just did you have no other choice. I ordered us to go for a car side pick up at 1:16 PM for a pick up at 3 PM I arrive at Applebee’s at 2:48 PM the phone Number that is provided as a courtesy for you to call when you arrive to the store does not work no one ever picked it up I called 4 times. I also did a location route I gave my current location and they were able to see me driving to the store I waited in the parking lot until 304 when I entered the restaurant there was a lady there that had arrived 10 minutes prior to that trying to complete a work order for door dash she she still had not being greeted or assisted in anyway the two waitresses they had on staff for the afternoon shift where walking back-and-forth past us and looking in the other direction. All the seated customers were laughing is that well but they continue to look around and it was very infuriating because they made both of us feel unseen and uncomfortable. There should have been some kind of notification when setting up the order that there was a delay I had to walk to the front of the restaurant where the new customer that have to be seated where standing in order for one of the waitresses to finally stop for me after flagging her down tell her that I can visually see my paid for order sitting by the car stop car side to go area getting cold and can I just please grab my items …she almost didn’t let me and see if they were short staffed and I would just have to wait until someone can come I reiterated that I was looking at my order and it was sitting there on the shelf and asked her if I could take it she asked if I paid for it and I said yes I proceeded to the back of the store grab my food and walk out. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with Applebee’s. The only reason why I gave 2 stars is because the cooks did their job and the food taste good it was still slightly warm but all this could’ve been avoided had they just come out when that time...
