Bird Dog BBQ — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

Being from Dallas, when I saw "Oklahoma style BBQ" I was excited, now I'm just sadly disappointed. Meat was barely warm and flavorless, honestly don't think it was over 145, which worries me. Ribs had a little moisture and were edible, however the brisket was drrrrrrry and for some reason they shredded it ??? Highly recommend ditching the oak and switching to pecan, MUCH BETTER "Oklahoma" flavor, and you need a good 12 more hours of smoke time, and waaaay more rub. Fries were cheap and out of a bag, and they had just come up, lucky me, pretty sure they would have been gross if I had come in 5 minutes later, however that is pretty consistent with BBQ spots back home. And no white bread and no free ice cream???

Also, do you not pay these people a full wage? If you're paying them server pay shame on you, if you are paying them a full wage why am being hustled for 20-25% tip? I mean dude didn't really seem to want to be there, pretty sure he's the stoned one from the previous reviews. The chick on the other hand was really nice, but she rang up my order and took my money, what am I tipping? Like I said I might give a buck or even 5 if they were just stellar, but that wasn't the experience.

Just disappointed. Was hoping for something like back home, this wasn't it. Guess I'll keep looking.

January 2024 A New year but absolutely not a new time for a different BBQ Restaurant by any means! Bird Dog BBQ still has the friendliest and most prfessional staff, the finest tasty BBQ, and affordable prices. I just can't stay away, and if ever there was a time to break a New Year's resolution on my dieting, Birddog Barbecue is the time and place to start. 5 Thumbs Up!

June 15, 2023 Time for a BBQ update, and it's gonna be another winner! I was likely the 1st customer of the day and a bit early, but boy oh boy, was it ever fresh and tasty BBQ. I had been looking forward to this all rainy week long, and the Staff here does not disappoint. Friendly, professional, and always a 5 Thumbs Up event with these great BBQ folks. Staff here walks on water and eats fire in my book on Customer Service!

First, I've never had a bad experience at any of their locations. I like this one because it's close to my house. I get the porkhouse sandwich. I've had other things from their menu, but the porkhouse just reminds me of home. Back at home we would have our meat and coleslaw all on the same bun and that way you really don't even need a paper plate. You just have to walk or stand up leaning very far forward to keep your boots clean. I called before I went and made sure that open carry is fine, and it is. Their booths actually have pictures of the pets of the people who work there. Next time I go I'm thinking about taking a picture of my dog and sliding it in just to see how long it takes them to notice. Everybody I spoke to was very polite and willing to help us. I don't know if they deliver, but I do know they have catering. Also, they have sweet tea. When I say sweet tea, I don't mean some weird version. I'm Southern and we are highly picky about our sweet tea.
