Absolutely fantastic breakfast!! The breakfast burrito with green chili was not only the best breakfast I’ve had in Colorado Springs but is a top 3 for anything I’ve had ever, anywhere! The French toast was outstanding as well!! It was hot, had warm strawberries and delicious homemade whipped cream and REAL MAPLE SYRUP!! I didn’t even have to ask for real maple syrup, it was just what they do!!! And the tequila sunrise with fresh squeezed OJ put it over the top. My family and I absolutely love breakfast and appreciate attention to detail and great food. A lot of places serve a breakfast that is basically Dennys with an increased charge. That was definitely not the case here. This was a chef prepared, made with love, delicious breakfast. And, the service was first class as well. It had snowed over a foot over 2 days and most businesses were closed, but when we walked in, we were greeted as if the restaurant was open just for us. Alie was our main server and bartender and ran the place as if she had built it and owned it herself. She greeted everyone that came in with a super genuine smile and hello and explained the entire menu. Dani was there helping and was incredibly friendly and attentive and professional as well. And not to be forgotten, Nadia was making all of the delicious dishes that made the meal so amazing. We asked a few times which one of them (or all of them) owned the place because they treated it as if it was their own labor of love. We will definitely eat here multiple times every time we visit Colorado Springs. Guy Fieri and Diners, Drive-Inns and Dives needs to make a visit to Bird Tree Cafe. He would not be...
Read moreOur family stopped by on our way through town looking for a quality meal, trying to avoid fast food chains, unfortunately we struck out. 1. Biscuits and gravy - The biscuit was dry and cold, making it unappealing. 2. The Hass toast was very over saturated causing it to be mushy, including the bread, and completely inedible. The tomatoes on it were also mushy and clumped together. All together appearing as if very little care or thought was put into the food. This meal was thrown away due to the reasons above, forcing us to stop for another meal at an alternative restaurant. 3. The breakfast sandwich was tasty, mostly bread and bacon though, again too much sauce. Also note, we began eating the food within a couple minutes of picking it up, giving no reason for the food to be cold or mushy. Allergies beware: We requested a breakfast burrito without eggs due to an allergy and were told they would not accommodate. Overall, we would never go back or send someone to Bird Tree Cafe. They received two stars because the food was prepared in a...
Read moreTejon Street in Colorado Springs offers a lot of options for shopping and dining. However, I'm a big fan of supporting unique, local, small businesses. Bird Tree Cafe is an excellent example of this. The minute you walk in, you are immediately calm and at ease. It is charming and cozy with many creative menu selections. We were welcomed the minute we arrived, and our server at the bar was cheery, friendly and attentive. My husband referred to his latte as "happiness in a cup," and quite enjoyed his BLT. My Hass Queen Toast was AMAZING! The plate it was served on was almost too small, considering the generous amount of dressed greens on top, but I accepted the challenge and just worked my way from the top. The guajillo aioli atop the dressed greens added a lovely tang, and the roasted tomato and ricotta gave the smashed avocados extra smoothness and flavor. I ordered mine with a fried egg, and the yolk from that only added to the rich and velvety feel of this combination. Bird Tree is was a wonderful experience, and worth a...
