As much as I hate leaving bad reviews, the experience my friends and I had here was abhorrent. We had a bigger group (7) and were quoted 15min wait - completely understandable. After a couple big tables left we were then told we could come in to at least order a drink while we waited for the table to be cleaned off. We were put at a tall, chair less table which was fine while waiting. We watched as groups came & went - was never sat at an actual table. After the first round of drinks, the bar cleared off so we decided to move to the bar to at least be able to sit down & attempt to order food. While I underhand it was very busy, little attention is paid to guests sitting at the bar by the bartenders, VERY little. We had to ask repeatedly to be able to put in an order & then repeatedly to close out our tabs to just finally be able to leave. After our group cashes out individually, Colby (short - no glasses, apparently there are two Colbys who bartend here) inform us our group has an unpaid bill of $101. All of us are shocked & frankly frustrated given we spent the whole night watching the bartenders take multiple shots & mingle with very specific patrons but paid NO mind to attending to us. I had to ask three times to close out. Colby came by, closed out my friend the walked off again. I asked AGAIN to please cash me out so I could leave. I was told they thought Colby had which he had not. When we are all paid out and told we owe this bill, we were extremely upset. Colby (short no glasses) was condescending, unapologetic & kept reading off drinks to us that had already been paid for!
This was my first time coming here & the ONLY reason I’d consider coming back is because of the bartender Flipp who actively tried to rectify the situation, was professional & even said he would personally try to make it right next time we came in. I can’t stress enough how much he tried to turn the situation around but after SUCH a grueling, frustrating experience dealing with Colby from the time he said he’d get us seated but didn’t to the time he accused us of owing money we didn’t owe & his rude service between I do NOT recommend coming here.
Also, a couple times an “issue with the new system” was mentioned, yet he still said we owed $101….. if there is an issue with staff being too focused on drinking while working, not being cognizant of the tabs, that is an issue of the establishment & NOT on the patrons who have waited around forever to be sure they close out their tabs. My friend was initially told by Colby she owed $70 for 3 drinks (ameila airheart, jolly rancher & it is what it is priced between (13-14) & she had to say no, that can’t be right. There are so many things that went wrong about this experience I’d be adding to this forever. But I will end with do NOT spend...
Read moreWe had an incredibly disappointing experience at District Elleven. My stepfather, who was sober, was refused service over a simple mistake—holding up three fingers instead of four when asked how many were in our party. Instead of clarifying or assessing the situation properly, the staff took an unnecessarily condescending approach, telling him to "drink some water for us, and then we can talk."
For context, he had already complied with their request to drink two glasses of water—something they didn't even observe. We also explained that we had just come from a steak dinner at The Rabbit Hole, and between the four of us, he and my mother had only one cocktail each, while my husband had two. If they had no intention of serving him, they should have just stated it outright rather than using an emasculating tone to suggest he needed to "drink water like we talked."
Our server was actually nice, but she claimed it was her coworker who saw him “stumble.” That was an outright lie. The only possible misstep would have been at the entrance, where there's a big step that I personally missed. If that was their reasoning, it only proves they were looking for any excuse to refuse service. And instead of addressing the situation in the moment, they didn’t even get the owner involved until we were already leaving. At that point, the owner offered for us to stay, but the vibe was already ruined, and they had already made it clear they didn’t care about the customer.
I completely understand refusing service to a legitimately drunk person, but that wasn’t the case here. There was no scene made before or after the denial—he simply complied, and they continued to be condescending pricks. Honestly, what icky people. On top of that, we weren’t even confident they put alcohol in our drinks.
What makes it even more frustrating is that we were originally going to go here with a 6:30 pm reservation prior to dinner but decided to make this a simple nightcap. There was no intention of getting over served this evening as he and my husband were skiing early the next morning, part of our weekend celebrating their bittersweet move from Colorado back to Texas. Well we won’t be missing these type of Colorado folks—full of judgement. If you enjoy being unfairly judged and spoken down to, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, I’d recommend taking your...
Read moreWe have lived in the city for many many years and this place is hands down the bar that excites us the most! Even a night where we don't want to do anything, we come to see these amazing people who we are beginning to know as friends!!! Crystal is an absolute gem.... not only is she an amazing business woman but she has a personality that is unmatched and is stunningly beautiful!!!
