So Guy Fieri finally got one right out of 30 we have visited this is one of the better ones and the only one I have scored this high besides T-Bone Tom's. Let's begin, first off if there is no room inside to eat pick a spit on the street to sit or even at the park. Yes it's just a hamburger place but it's a good hamburger place one I would return to and wait in line for my food. The burgers are ok/good I'm disappointed in the actual size of the patty but still good. The patties are good especially for a place in the northern hemisphere of America. Down south if it isn't an inch thick it's considered a kids meal. We ordered the skirted heifer and a hangover burger one order of fries and 2 drinks. The fries are great I couldn't belive I myself liked the fries cause I can't eat many I about stuffed myself with those fries. The hangover I asked for roasted garlic ( thier idea of roasted garlic is a joke..) and add tomatoes. Cost extra for both I recommend not getting either one added on the burger because it's not worth the money. The overall flavor of the burger let me tell you I tried to finish my leftovers and couldn't. The skirted burger lived up to its name a bunch of melted cheese and looked great. Flavor was on point but again patties way to small/things. The heifer sauce eehh everyone has thier own version or name of ketchup mustard and mayo mixed together. Thiers is mixed just right no doubt. The drinks suck... I got the lemonade because no sweet tea and the coke was just gross. Lemonade was out of sight in comparison. We have been from Hawaii to Florida looking for a triple D dive that actually had flavor. This place will deliver is my bottom line. You cannot make everyone happy it will never happen, but myself who refuses to wait in a line for food I would wait for the burgers here. Great job guys you impressed this hard to impress...
Read moreAs a Level 7 Google Local Guide with over 18 million photo views and ranked in the top 10% of restaurant reviewers on Google, I can confidently say this: The Skirted Heifer serves the best burger I have ever had.
The signature Skirted Heifer burger is a carnivore’s dream — grass-fed beef wrapped in a fried cheddar cheese “skirt” that extends well past the bun. The flavor and texture are absolutely outstanding, and it’s so good that the fries (which were average) aren’t even needed. The burger stands on its own as the star of the meal.
They also score points for thoughtful touches: high-quality metal trays for plating, Boylan’s cane sugar sodas instead of high fructose corn syrup, and even gluten-free bun options, showing they care about both quality and customer health.
The restaurant itself is clean and welcoming, with excellent customer service. Seating includes a patio and a huge open indoor window that creates an airy, open feel. It’s a busy spot (and for good reason) right in the heart of Colorado Springs, directly across from the park — the perfect location.
The walls are lined with awards like Best of Colorado Springs year after year, plus a Guy Fieri endorsement from Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives — both well deserved.
The only limitation is that there’s just one small restroom, which is clean but lacks a changing table. Families should be aware of this, though it doesn’t diminish the overall excellence of the experience.
Bottom line: 5 stars without hesitation. If you’re in Colorado Springs, this is...
Read moreSkirted Heifer is one of those places that makes you question every other burger you’ve ever had. You take one bite and immediately feel like writing an apology letter to every fast food joint you’ve ever tolerated. “Dear burger chain, I didn’t know any better. Please forgive me.”
First of all, the name alone deserves a standing ovation. Skirted Heifer sounds like the name of a punk rock band that only plays at farmer’s markets. But once you’re inside, it all makes sense. They’re not just throwing patties on buns and calling it a day. They are crafting burgers with intention, with attitude, and with that glorious cheese skirt that boldly announces, “Yes, we go the extra mile.”
The vibe is casual, confident, and welcoming. You walk in and instantly feel like you belong, even if you're rocking mismatched socks and running on 20 percent battery. It smells like happiness. It feels like summer. And the staff? Friendly in that rare way where you can tell they actually enjoy what they do.
The burger itself is juicy, messy, and full of personality. This is not a quick lunch. This is an experience. The kind where you need napkins, space, and a little time to reflect on your choices. The fries are crisp, the sauces are dangerous, and before you know it, you're dipping things that were never meant to be dipped.
Skirted Heifer is more than a burger joint. It’s a declaration that food should be playful, over-the-top, and a little dramatic. In the best...
