Few days ago I brought 6 people to eat and we had a good dinner for which we paid $200. As we had good experience my wife and I returned but this time it was an exact opposite. The owners/server was looking down at his feet when walking around the restaurant, was not serving us timely even though there were 3 tables he was taking care in the whole place. And then things got even worse when we had a really bad and embarrassing confrontation with the owner. We ordered our food, had good appetizers and when the main dish arrived I did not like my drunken noodles. As the matter of fact I took one bite they were inedible, there was no check back from the owner/server and I had to walk around the restaurant to find him to help me. I told him I could not eat my order (and neither could my wife who also took a bite and disliked it) so I asked for something else. He said OK and took my new order. Then a few moment later he came back and told me that I needed to pay for half of the dish I did not eat and he became argumentative and practically yelled at me at which point we walked to the front to pay and left. I completely understand why they had just a few customers as nobody likes to be ignored at a restaurant, served a bad dish, then get asked to to pay for something they took one bit of and could not stomach it,and then get yelled at- we are definitely not...
Read moreI was brought here by the love of my life because Indian cuisine is my favorite kind of food. The restaurant downtown Springs was cute, not fancy, and bigger than expected. We were offered a table or a booth which was nice. After our waiter took our order, it took a good 45 minutes before we got our food. Luckily I don't think either of us was super hungry and we needed the time to chat so that was okay. The portions were mostly good except not enough rice for the dishes (saucey) that require it (eg., Chicken Tikka Masala). The only surprising thing was that none of the dishes we ordered were as savory as I'm accustomed to when having Indian dishes. They were all fairly bland which is surprising as one of the things I love most about Indian food is the strong, savory flavors that awaken my taste buds. I'll just say this is fair enough maybe for people who need to watch their salt intake. I probably should have simply added some salt but, I left it as it was. I've had authentic Indian from many places, but this one for the price, wasn't as good as I had hoped. The best part about it was spending my time with my partner but we won't be going...
Read more2024: Well the buffet is still $15.99 but the quality has gone down. Just not what it used to be. The last two times the Kheer has been off. Today it was really sour and as thick as paste...blech. Not only was it off, but there was no offer to make it right in any way either by providing a discount or anything else. I've been a fan of Everest Nepal over the years (as seen below) but I'm planning on taking a break for awhile at this point. There are a lot of other options in the Springs now but hopefully they'll figure things out and make it right. 2023: The buffet is now $15.99 but my gosh you can barely get a sandwich for that downtown considering the impact of inflation. You still can't beat the price and the food continues to be fantastic! 2021: The buffet is back open! The price is now $13.99 but that's totally expected considering the new world were in. Still totally worth the price. 2019: Hands down the absolute tastiest "Indian" buffet in town. Great variety and every dish is delicious. $11.99 is a fair price for an all you can eat buffet of...
