Ordered food for breakfast to take out for two people brought it home and order was wrong Toast soggy and priced way too high for what was given.. Brouhught back the food and waitress who handles the order assured me it would be taken care of and of my options, one of which was to have 10 dollars back for less food on one order. I declined and was given the owner to work it out with. The owner, a female ,elderly lady was very rude and humiliated me for asking for refund by speaking rudely loud as if I was some sort of criminal. She gave me one option to accept the correct order all while she created such a dramatization in front of employees n guests. I was never ever treated like this by a restaurant owner or manager or employee ever. I again requested a refund and she blatantly said as if I'm a child " your not getting a refund and I can have new food." She kept going back n forth to kitchen very put out and made a big deal over not buttering the toast n simply having to make right on a $ 37.00 dollar order. I was so embarrassed I felt I had to bargain with the owner just to get out of there as embarrassed as I was. Well the owner never took any money off the bill and she threw the food in a bag keeping my receipt. Well the new food made that was incorrect was covered in hair small hairs which infuriated my friend who's food it was and back to the restaurant we went to get refund. The owner totally was out of line made excuses told my friend the hair cooked into her French toast was " egg hair" wth is egg hair?? The owner then proceeded to ask my friend while still arguing with her to come back to the fryer to see the egg hair hairs. I am so disappointed in the food but mostly the incompetence of this owner and lack of customer service offered. The meal was $37.00 she cant afford to refund them as asked a second time to do only to be belittled once again in front of everyone.Where the heck is it written patrons are punished if dissatisfied with food and service then expected to eat the tainted food your requesting a refund for?? Bon ton cafe is not the best in town for this reason. And nothing was returned to the customer. What has this world gone to?? Nothing is worth being railroaded, lied to and treated poorly and good n services were very poorly given, and on your own dime. I give zero stars to this restaurant. I would never recommend this place to anyone....
Read moreWaitress was super sweet. Manager is super rude and a combative. I ordered a sandwich with no bacon and made sure to ask if it was turkey and it came with bacon and ham on it. I cannot have pork and when I said this the guy told me to take it off myself and then when he took it back, they clearly just plucked it off in the kitchen instead of making a new one. My friend was served a raw raw raw raw raw hash brown and no flavor omelette, which we nicely asked to just be take off the bill as she didn’t touch it. They said they couldn’t and made her a new one with home fries because that is a “safer option…” it was served very very very raw and cold. At this point we asked for the manager who refused to come over at first, they continuously told us they couldn’t take it off the bill, and when she finally did come she was one of the rudest restaurant managers I’ve met. It seemed like everyone was scared of her. She said “I’m sorry that you don’t like the way we cook our potatoes, I love them.” Raw ???! She also told us that she disagrees with us as I split an uncooked and unsafe to eat potato in front of her to show her how not ok that is. Finally, she made a big deal about taking it off the bill and did not even say anything about the pork situation. Again, we tipped because the waitress was super sweet and should not have to deal with that manager. I hope the tip went to her and as people who are not confrontational, this was super disrespectful and disappointing to have to advocate for ourselves. Please do not go here. It was also very expensive for the experience and food we received. I want to emphasize that we were not rude and nice to people we encountered despite...
Read moreBeen here dozens of times and always enjoyed myself. Up till today this was my favorite restaurant in all of OCC. Today some random lady (a waiter, the owner maybe?) bothered me out of the blue for having my Stanley tumbler filled with water on the table in the restaurant. She was really confrontational and accusatory for no reason. When I calmly explained to her that my Stanley has water in it and that I’d rather not walk all the way home to return it, she went on about how her liquor license was in jeopardy because of me. She then went on to quiz me on hypotheticals about if the sherif was there, he wouldn’t believe me so why should she? I explain to her again that it’s just water and that I don’t drink alcohol so being accused of smuggling it into the restaurant felt very weird and made me deeply uncomfortable. I get a restaurant wanting to protect itself, but there are ways to remind diners of their water bottle policy without scolding them like misbehaved children. We eat here every week and I have brought my water bottle in every single time with zero issue. This lady didn’t offer us water or offer to take our order, she just scolded us. We were so confused we just got up and left.
Edit: just called the staff to ask if this was normal, and was totally dismissed. The staff said “it’s probably the owner, she’s my boss and she writes my paychecks, I don’t know what you want me to do.” What a sad conclusion. Whatever weird energy is brewing among staff, I hope it gets better for you guys. Your food is excellent but yall are super rude lately and it just makes me sad. All we...
