i’ve been coming here for a while, and let me preface this by saying it’s usually a great place with friendly service, and a good wine selection. However, my most recent visit was abysmal. They have a hostess stand now, and there was a young man there. I told him I wanted to sit outside, but I was going to go to the bathroom first, and he said OK. When I left the bathroom, he was standing at the bar talking with the servers, and I decided to grab a menu and just go outside so I didn’t disturb them.
then, time started to tick by and I realize they were helping everyone else but me. It became pretty clear pretty quickly that they thought I had sat myself, so they were ignoring me. I said that for a good while before I finally went to the bar and asked for Service . My problem with us is that the boy at the serving station knew I had checked in with him, he knew I said I would sit outside, and he was clearly not communicating that intentionally. I told him I didn’t appreciate this, and he said yeah, sorry will do better next time and walked away. He had this smug look on his face the entire time.
my server ended up making up for it by being very kind and sweet. It’s a great place, and I’m not sure what that guy‘s problem was, but hopefully he learns how to do his...
Read moreI spent my evenings visiting various lounges while I was visiting COS and this is one of several I landed on. I was pleasantly surprised with the expansive list of whiskey I was handed which could make for a very dangerous place for me to be if I actually lived locally still. I was however disappointed when I selected not 1, but THREE, different bourbons that were listed on the menu only to be told each subsequent one was unavailable. Not necessarily the end of the world, but a slight nuisance since I was still able to find something else I liked. However I then ordered a food item from the menu only to be informed that that item had actually been removed and it was replaced with some atrocious sounding pickled item that hadn't been listed.
I feel like it's really important to keep menus updated at the bare minimum with food changes given that it's only a single page of about 12 items. I understand the whiskey list not being updated when things are in and out of stock given how extensive the list is.
I'd definitely consider giving this place another go though as the old fashioned was made properly and the bartender was more or less friendly. The overall vibe of the place was...
Read moreA friend and I met up here after work to try it out, and the service was very unprofessional. The tables were sticky, the menus were sticky, the food options were slim and not tasty. I don’t drink so I got a cigar, and the waitress had no idea what the cigar was, didn’t know how much it cost, so I asked another waitress that came by and she didn’t know either. Against my better judgment I got it anyways because they told me it was the only one they had left, and when the cigar was brought it to me, they said “we can’t find our cigar cutter, but there’s a gentle across the patio that said you could borrow his. 😳 and sure enough this nice man came over to me and cut my cigar, BUT HONESTLY YOU GUYS! I was expecting a more upscale bar/ after hour hang out and it just felt like a dirty sticky basic service college bar with pretty decor slapped on it like a bandaid. HIGHLY...
