Frozen Gold — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

Let me be clear. This is soft serve ice cream. It is delicious. How can it not be? It's ice cream.

The experience... Not so great. One, they have a build your own option that is not listed on the menu. So just ask for that if you're not a fan of the pre-made recipes listed. Just know it's $0.50 a topping. Otherwise they will tell you they can't modify their recipes because their "executive chef" spent a lot of time making sure they are the "perfect flavor profile".

Except that wasn't the case for me. I don't like fudge and their only non overly sweet option with the caramel center (something with cheezits?) Was not for me. They're not preconstructed so I simply asked for the fudge center to be switched with caramel on a treat I wanted to try. That's when I was told that they don't like to modify because their executive chef doesn't like it. I was honestly about to just not order anything then when one of the other employees said they could do it as a build your own - which is not listed on their limited menu.

I get that if it's company policy, there's not a lot that the employees can do. But the woman who was taking my order and ringing me up was rude about it. She delivered the information about not being allowed to make changes with major attitude and acted like I was rude for even asking. I've spent the majority of my adult life in customer service and her attitude was unacceptable. The policy is stupid. But what ruined the experience was how it was handled by this woman.

Seriously, it's overpriced soft serve ice cream. Allow modifications or list the build your own option with the topping options. Not everyone shares the same tastes as their "executive chef".

The ice cream is good if you don't want to change anything. The experience is not worth it. And I think that their executive chef needs to remove themselves if their precious ego can't handle someone wanting a tweak to their ice cream...

This Place!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!

While visiting we wanted some dessert in Colorado Springs and decided to check this out! Simply Put:

THE. BEST. I’VE. EVER. HAD!

Ok now for the details. Line was a little long which is a great sign of a good place. I’d suggest they consider a second Point of Sale system to speed that up, I can’t imagine what it’s like during peak times. I went on a Sunday night at 9:00 pm on Labor Day Weekend and it was packed. What’s this place like on a Friday at 7:30? 🤷🏻‍♂️ not sure but it’s still worth the wait!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They answered my questions and didn’t rush me along.

This is where the flavors are amazing! I honestly wanted to get 4 different kinds.

The Silly Rabbit was so good! The inside tasted like cereal milk.

The cookie crumble was mine and was amazing! The pieces of cookie dough and Oreos were so good and there was fudge on the inside of the cone! Wow!

The You’re So Cheesy was wild! Tried this as well and it’s a wild, amazing combination! It was so good!

Customer service is LACKING. No acknowledgement when I walked in with my husband and three children. My husband politely asked if there are kid sizes after saying hello and asking how her day is going to the attendant since she didn’t seem to want to acknowledge us. The attendant coldly answered: “ONLY FOR KIDS 12 and UNDER” as of to insinuate we were trying to order kids sizes for ourselves and not for the three kids we just walked in with. After deciding on the three kids ice cream, I ask for a child size vanilla with whipped cream for my daughter, and she states “whipped cream is only for milk shakes!” Like wth. You can’t simply just put whipped cream and charge for whatever the additional weight is??? I walked out because from the first question it was clear that customer service was not a priority in that place. I sincerely hope that a manager or owner sees this review and properly trains their staff....
