Updating my review from 1 to 4 stars since I went to Mimi's in person and talked to the manager about the refund. He refunded me within a few minutes and provided a printout of it, so now just waiting on my bank. The culinary manager also came out to apologize to me. The manager offered me a free muffin on the way out which was a nice gesture(and the muffin was super yummy too). Can't give a 5 star rating as it still took too much of my own effort to get resolved, but the fact that they made things right today does help me consider possibly giving them another chance in the future. -----‐---------------------------------------------------------------- So I ordered two sides from Mimi's Cafe a week before Christmas and then the day of pickup I got a call from Mimi's Cafe stating that "they ran out" of one of the sides(poor planning on their part). So I told the person from Mimi's Cafe to cancel the entire order. Instead of the pending charge falling off my account, I was still charged the amount despite me saying to cancel the entire order. Yesterday 12/27 I attempted to contact a manager at Mimi's about 10 attempts were made but no matter what selection I made in the menu, it automatically went to a message stating "this voicemail box has not been set up yet". The corporate number wouldn't work and so I checked their google reviews and saw a guest relations email so I emailed yesterday and hadn't heard back yet. I called after hours and conveniently the phone rang and rang and rang. Today 12/28 I called again and spoke with a hostess who put me on hold for 12 minutes while she attempted to grab the manager. The manager was in the kitchen and refused to come to the phone and he made her go back and forth to me asking questions. Finally after 15 minutes the hostess says if its not in the website we can't do anything about the refund. Ummm what? She's like well you can continue to wait for him or I can take your name and phone number for him to call you back. Its after 2pm and still no callback. This is absolutely some of the worst customer experience I have had from a restaurant and looks like I'll be needing to dispute the charge with my bank. I plan to never order from Mimi's Cafe ever again. Would not eat there if it was the last place open on earth. 0/10 do NOT recommend.

The omelet had raw spinach in it, with two pieces of cold bacon and maybe 1/8th of an avocado sliced on top with two slices of burger-style tomatoes. As if someone had only a vague understanding of what an omelet is supposed to be, then put burger toppings on it. The Eggs Benedict had shells in it. How does that even happen to a poached egg? Re: Service Staff was unhelpful and actively argumentative. Not just our server, but the entire staff, I mean. Our server argued with us multiple times over what we ordered and what they had available. Another server argued with me about the color of the bathroom door (a totally bizarre interaction in its own right). The manager came out to argue with another customer at the counter for the entire duration of our stay. We waited almost ten minutes to be seated (our server was the host also). Asked repeatedly for drink refills and were ignored. Had to repeat our to-go orders multiple times. Re: Atmosphere Nice big fireplace in the lobby. 3 stars. Overall Takeaway: This place will be out of business or under new management by Q2 of 2025, take your odds. Post Script: The bathroom door is magenta, not red. Also it’s not a big deal either way, so why argue over it?

The workers are friendly enough. But the service wasn’t great. Waitress didn’t bring us plates for the bread we had at first and failed to check in on our group in the back room adequately. This seems to be pretty normal here. After the waitress failed to come through on my BLT, she did nothing to make it right. Also, waitress seemed to be unhappy in her position and seemed displeased with a lot of the food on the menu. Hard to trust a place that the workers don’t. Atmosphere: cozy. 4.5 stars. Fireplaces are nice. I like the layout inside and the table style. Booths are comfortable and so are the normal chairs. Restaurant IS Handicap accessible. Price: too high for the quality of food and service.

  • UPDATE! Finally got someone to get back to me. Alexis the new Manager went above and beyond to make things right! The food was good and our server was awesome. We will definitely be back for regular dining! I still have reservations about a Banquet but the new Manager IS Wonderful and assured me she's working on the issues. * PLEASE Do Not Use them for your Banquet or meeting the service was HORRIBLE. Wish I could leave 0 stars. I tried multiple times to let them know about our groups awful experience just to be ignored. I am attaching as much of the email as space allows to hopefully help others Not have our bad experience.. To whom it may concern, I am extremely disappointed and irritated with a recent experience at your 7133 N Academy location. I was part of a banquet of 32+/- people held there Thursday 2/24/25. I know for a fact that your banquet room was reserved At Least 2+ Months before our event. The contact for our group, even recieved an email verification a couple days before the event confirming You were expecting us.This experience makes it blatantly obvious You have some Major Management issues, at least when it comes to planning for a large group! We had one extremely nice but inexperienced young man trying to basically do Everything by himself (I believe he told me his name was Tyler) when I spoke to him afterwards, he very apologetically, told me he was so sorry for the issues, he wasn't even told that he would be taking care of ALL of us until he arrived for work, as we were all arriving. He sheepishly said, had Never taken care of a large party before, especially alone. I felt so bad for him he was very nice and obviously trying his hardest. There was another young lady (possibly the Alexis on my receipt?) That "helped" (not very well) deliver some drinks and a few meals, I asked her twice for a refill on my watern that I never received, until I asked Tyler for it and got, after it calmed down some.Which brings me to Food Service. Tyler took Everyone's orders. And then in the most chaotic service I have ever seen in my, not so short 😉 life. Food started arriving in the most convoluted manner imaginable. Drinks arrived first and Tyler and "Alexis?" were literally walking in pretty much 1 drink at a time and standing at the end of the room (of seniors that don't necessarily hear well) asking who ordered this (insert drink name) and trying to figure out who it went to. After that fiasco, that was going on during the meeting so everyone was distracted, Food very very SLOWLY began to arrive. Much in a similar manner (the who hold up and ask, who had the.[insert food item] delivery) It seemed to me that you must have had a very sparse kitchen staff, judging by the extremely slow, strange manner in which Food arrived it was odd, to say the least. Apparently they prepared the same item for as many people as ordered it then moved to the next. For example a friend and I both had the Monte Crista French toast. Lucky for me it was one of the first things out, it arrived after only about a 45 minute wait. However my mom (who's meal was ordered at the same time on the same ticket) who ordered an omelet finally received her meal about 30 minutes after me.(at the same time as the ladies on the other side of me that ordered the same thing. But at least she got it, the nice little old 80+ year old lady across the table from me (one of the 1st to place her order) did not get her Muffin until after pretty much Everyone else was served. JUST a pre-made Muffin! You knew Months ahead of time a large group was coming (in addition to your normal busy morning from the look of the dining room) you should have insured you had additional staff to cover it. A quick edit- My mother ate here with me and on this night and she was appalled at how much I paid for nothing. She called the General Manager Alex the following morning and he offered ZERO compensation and only told her that he hoped he could make this up to us when we come back. WHY WOULD WE DO THAT? If you come here you run the risk of horrible service, late food, and ZERO compensation. It used to be a great place to eat where you didn’t need to worry about compensation but at this point, they mess up, fix nothing, and I wouldn’t run the risk of losing that much money for bad service and late food. Beware of Mimi’s.

This place used to have really cool decor. They took it all down and it’s very barren. We had a girl who served us and she told us twice that she was the only server on the shift, she had purpleish hair and glasses. There was also a hostess who had red hair. The tables weren’t bussed after people left for a long time and some of them stayed dirty while we were there. I even took a picture of it because I was kind of grossed out. I ordered my kids food first and it did come fast but our food never showed up until over 30 or 40 minutes later. We were there for so long and we had to ask for refills. There was not a full restaurant there was just a couple of tables. I’m sure by watching the cameras you could see this and see how long the tables behind us stayed dirty. These people cannot run the restaurant. They should not be alone and there should’ve been a manager.
