Updating my review from 1 to 4 stars since I went to Mimi's in person and talked to the manager about the refund. He refunded me within a few minutes and provided a printout of it, so now just waiting on my bank. The culinary manager also came out to apologize to me. The manager offered me a free muffin on the way out which was a nice gesture(and the muffin was super yummy too). Can't give a 5 star rating as it still took too much of my own effort to get resolved, but the fact that they made things right today does help me consider possibly giving them another chance in the future.
-----‐---------------------------------------------------------------- So I ordered two sides from Mimi's Cafe a week before Christmas and then the day of pickup I got a call from Mimi's Cafe stating that "they ran out" of one of the sides(poor planning on their part). So I told the person from Mimi's Cafe to cancel the entire order. Instead of the pending charge falling off my account, I was still charged the amount despite me saying to cancel the entire order.
Yesterday 12/27 I attempted to contact a manager at Mimi's about 10 attempts were made but no matter what selection I made in the menu, it automatically went to a message stating "this voicemail box has not been set up yet". The corporate number wouldn't work and so I checked their google reviews and saw a guest relations email so I emailed yesterday and hadn't heard back yet. I called after hours and conveniently the phone rang and rang and rang.
Today 12/28 I called again and spoke with a hostess who put me on hold for 12 minutes while she attempted to grab the manager. The manager was in the kitchen and refused to come to the phone and he made her go back and forth to me asking questions.
Finally after 15 minutes the hostess says if its not in the website we can't do anything about the refund. Ummm what? She's like well you can continue to wait for him or I can take your name and phone number for him to call you back. Its after 2pm and still no callback. This is absolutely some of the worst customer experience I have had from a restaurant and looks like I'll be needing to dispute the charge with my bank.
I plan to never order from Mimi's Cafe ever again. Would not eat there if it was the last place open on earth. 0/10 do...
Read moreA quick edit- My mother ate here with me and on this night and she was appalled at how much I paid for nothing. She called the General Manager Alex the following morning and he offered ZERO compensation and only told her that he hoped he could make this up to us when we come back. WHY WOULD WE DO THAT? If you come here you run the risk of horrible service, late food, and ZERO compensation. It used to be a great place to eat where you didn’t need to worry about compensation but at this point, they mess up, fix nothing, and I wouldn’t run the risk of losing that much money for bad service and late food. Beware of Mimi’s.
This place used to have really cool decor. They took it all down and it’s very barren. We had a girl who served us and she told us twice that she was the only server on the shift, she had purpleish hair and glasses. There was also a hostess who had red hair. The tables weren’t bussed after people left for a long time and some of them stayed dirty while we were there. I even took a picture of it because I was kind of grossed out. I ordered my kids food first and it did come fast but our food never showed up until over 30 or 40 minutes later. We were there for so long and we had to ask for refills. There was not a full restaurant there was just a couple of tables. I’m sure by watching the cameras you could see this and see how long the tables behind us stayed dirty. These people cannot run the restaurant. They should not be alone and there should’ve been a manager. After this horrible experience I got a muffin, and they comped the steak. I can’t believe I paid $68 to take my food home and to go boxes and eat it cold later.
