Welcome to Nara Sushi, a hidden gem nestled in a somewhat unexpected location. As I ventured into what some may describe as the "ghetto," I couldn't help but wonder if this culinary adventure was worth potentially dodging a few potholes along the way. Let me tell you, my friends, it absolutely was.
From the moment I entered Nara Sushi, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience, making me feel like a valued guest. Their attentiveness and knowledge of the menu truly elevated the overall experience.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the fish. Oh my goodness, the fish! It was as if I had just embarked on an epic fishing trip and caught the damn thing myself. The freshness was unparalleled, and each bite was a testament to the quality of their ingredients. The yellowtail and jalapeño sashimi, in particular, were a revelation. The delicate balance of flavors danced on my palate, with the fish melting like butter in my mouth. It was a true culinary delight.
Now, I must address the elephant in the room - the location. Nara Sushi may not be situated in the most glamorous neighborhood, but let me assure you, it's worth every adventurous step. Sometimes, the best experiences are found in the most unexpected places, and this is one of them. So, brace yourself for a sushi journey that might require a detour, but I promise you, it's a risk worth taking.
In conclusion, Nara Sushi boasts not only incredible service but also a fish selection that will transport your taste buds to a realm of pure delight. It's a place where the passion for sushi shines through in every dish. So, my fellow sushi enthusiasts, do not let the unconventional locale deter you. Embrace the adventure, savor the flavors, and let Nara Sushi transport you to a world of...
Read moreOn thurs 2/5/21 we called this restaurant from around 6:30-7:30 and their phone went straight to busy signal consistently throughout the hour. We figured maybe something was wrong with the phone so we'd just to order for pick up in person. This place has no website or app to order from. The information listed on the web is open until 9:00 pm. We showed up to order. It was 8:00 on the dot when we arrived. Upon arrival the hostess at the registrar was so incredibly rude and dismissive. The reason I am putting the date and time into this post is so the wrong staff member does not get blamed. This staff member immediately stated they closed at 8:00 which is the exact time we walked in. We kindly tried explaining that we had been trying to call for an hour and their phone seemed to have an issue or some grace. There were many people still in the restaurant eating so it was not like the restaurant was empty which we would have understood in that case. She was not surprised when we told her the phone was permanently on busy and just walked away without looking at us. The hostess had switched the phone so no further orders would go through in the last hour and probably just wanted to go home early from her shift.
We really like sushi. This place was mediocre but it was close to where we live so we wanted to make it a staple for us because we work incredibly long hours and sometimes are too tired to cook. We will never go back here due to this experience. Again the sushi was ok, nothing special so we will take our business elsewhere. This is a way to lose steady customers especially during a time when businesses are struggling. We'll make the drive to Sushi Alto, their sushi is much fresher and their customer service is...
Read moreYay! We finally found a sushi spot in Springs that we will come back to! Definitely on par with our LA sushi experience.
Large dining area and sushi bar. Booth, table, and bar seating.
We ordered: •Valentine Roll (top in photo) 3.5/5 rating •Shogun Roll (middle) 4.5/5 rating •Garden of the Gods Roll (bottom) 5/5 rating •Hot Sake 4/5 rating
We were pleasantly surprised with complementary miso soup which was great. Hot, plenty if green onion, and tofu. Our favorite roll was the Garden of the Gods. Super tasty and yummy texture with the creamy sauce and crunch on top. Next was a the Shogun roll. I love the crunchy pop of masago, the tuna was delicious, it was packed with lots of yummy stuff only downside was the pieces were too big we couldn't successfully keep them from falling apart with chop sticks. Last was the Valentine roll, tasty tuna and avocado. Plenty of wasabi and ginger as well as lemons and a pretty orchid on the serving platter. The hot sake was good, maybe just a little dryer than I prefer but still very enjoyable.
The owner Kim was so sweet! We enjoyed and appreciated the food, service, and atmosphere. We will definitely be back and when someone asks for a sushi recommendation this will be the only one I give out of the 4 places we've...
