A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

Had high hopes. No A&W in my area for years. Sadly, since then, the quality of the food dropped significantly. No frosted mugs or any mugs like in the picture. Waited 30 minutes for my food! And it was dead! No real reason other than slow employees and overworked management. Of course a health inspector showed up too so the manager was likely additionally distracted. But it’s fast food and there is maybe 5 people in the dining room including us. No excuse for how slow. The woman who ordered behind me ordered a two piece. A TWO PIECE! THATS ALREADY IN THE WARMER! She waited 32 minutes. We’re on vacation so we could wait but a crew of workers walked in and now have to get a refund because 20 minutes later they’ve made no progress on their order.

I talked to the inspector and she’s a private auditor so not municipal or state, but the cluster fk started before she walked in.

Restaurant appeared clean though. More kfc than a&w. Oh well. They say to never meet your heroes. I guess this is a fast food version. Very underwhelming.

Between the crew they refunded and the other two groups who walked out, they lost $100 or more of desperately...

The food tastes great. Usually the drive through is very slow. I ordered an 8 piece meal and asked for all thighs, and a 12 piece chicken tenders and the total was $44. Quite a bit overpriced if you ask me. I can understand that if I was paying for ambience, but this was the drive through window. The sides I ordered were macaroni and cheese for my kids and it came in convenient bowls with lids, but they failed to give utensils and so we had to park in the lot and go in to get some. Not too impressive for customer service. I would probably be a bit more frustrated if I were in a hurry at the time or if I went there more than once every couple months, but service and speed and price has never really changed over the past few years. The drink station was atrocious. I'm attaching a photo. It obviously hadn't been touched all day. There were maybe 3 clean tables in the place. They were NOT busy by any stretch, so I was surprised. We used napkins and hand sanitizer to clean a table as there were 5 of us and the only 2 tables large enough were filthy. They got the orders of the 2 customers in front of us incorrect, and we worried, but we were only missing 1 order of fries. The poor lady ahead of us had to come back twice to get her correct items. The kitchen area was strewn with plastic take out bags on the floor and I'm sure that's a slipping hazard. Won't be back. This place could not have...
