Although I've not visited in awhile, this is my favorite Starbucks on the westside. My mom passed away June of 2016... Before she was unable to get out & about, she would treat my son and I before our errands together. It may be more than just coffee & treats that makes me fond of this location.... That being said, I have always been given a warm welcome passing through the door and/or drive through. My orders have been correct and timely. Pleasant customers to be around... Although busy, I've not encountered any rudeness from others coming or going. When my mom was with us, the fact that our age differences of 16, 41, and 72 had no affect on how the employees and/or patrons treated us. VERY nice environment to enjoy your am/afternoon coffees, teas, etc. Wi-Fi worked fantastic at a time when I could come in blog, or watch live streaming with the company I work for. The building is well lit because of the windows. Sitting at table(s)/ choice of provided cushioned chairs are really comfortable. Seating outside is great on days with a breeze. I honestly only tried a few food items, and they were alright. I'd tried a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, cheese croissant). The order was correctly heated, as well as tasty. To be honest, I felt the breakfast treat was $1.50 more than I would spend on an average. As far as gifts for purchases, I've avoided because prices are higher end for me personally. If I'm there with money for a treat, it is for a cold coffee. That being said, I want to visit again soon. Before I forget!, Thanks to the drive-thru staff having a cookie on hand for Petey, my dog. Of course Petey's interested in my drink and the fact you all pay attention to our fuzzy-butt family members warms...
Read moreFrustrated with Starbucks Corporate-mandated overreaching policies in response to COVID that did not match local policies, I quit going to Starbucks for nearly a year. Since this particular store is close to where I now live, I thought that today, finally, I might give the brand another shot. It was a cold and rainy midafternoon, the kind where you debate going out at all, but the thought of a Starbucks pastry and hot coffee sounded good, so I brought my laptop to catch up on some email. But 20 minutes after I get there, an employee comes up saying that they are going to close down the dining room because they are short staffed. I see that there are at least 4 employees working at the moment. That's a disconnect. I mean, hey, I usually go to local coffeehouses, many of which only have one employee on staff at any given time. But Starbucks can't manage to keep their dining room open as scheduled when they have 4 employees on duty? It seemed like a lame excuse. So, once again, I go to Starbucks and have a negative experience. Hell, I make just as good a cup of coffee at home. The only reason I go to Starbucks is for the vibe. After 20 minutes, they took away that vibe. Looks like I'll be staying with locally owned and operated coffeehouses after all.
At least the view of Pike's Peak is...
Read moreI was so excited to wake up early and go get coffee before my husband woke up. I decided to go in rather than through the drive thru because I wanted a travel box of coffee. There was an older gentleman in front of me that looked as if he may be down on his luck. He had dollar bills in his hand, and he was up at the counter. All the staff (5 or so people) were acting as if he wasn't there. They simply ignored him. His money is different? He just stood there while they continued chatting. Ironically, there was a written message on the chalkboard about showing kindness. After about 5 minutes of being similarly ignored, one of the staff broke from his conversation to ask if I wanted to order? Ummmmmm....well, yes....probably why I'm here....you know...coffee. I asked a question about the coffee wanting a description. The man explained he doesn't drink coffee there, and the girl pointed to the sign reading me the description, exasperated and apparently irritated. When I got my coffee travel case, there were no cups either....and I'm not going back in there! Wow. Just wow. I feel like Starbucks probably doesn't want their product to be represented in this way. Real...
