My husband and I went to Ted's last night. Made reservations online (quick and easy process) and arrived at 3:55pm on a Friday hoping to be in and out before the Friday night rush. Our server, Ashley, was fantastic and we have no complaints against her. Unfortunately, our experience was horrible enough that I deleted my 4 star review from 7 years ago and am now giving 1 star. I agree with other recent reviews that Ted's is not what it used to be and has gone downhill. The chairs and seating are uncomfortable and very close together. My biggest complaint is that both my husband and I had to send our steaks back not once, not twice! Even the third time they were still wrong. I ordered a beef filet, medium. It came out well done, with no pink in it. My husband ordered the Delmonico Ribeye, also medium, that also came out well done with no pink. The second time our steaks came out, they were RAW. As soon as I started cutting, I could tell that it was not going to be medium. Both steaks were seared in the outside and raw throughout 90% of the steak. I mean how can you get it this wrong, especially when the Friday night rush has not even begun!!!! The third time when the steaks came out mine was medium well+ with only 2 bites having pink in it. The same for my husband's steak. And, my husband said that the steak that was brought the 3rd time was a strip and not a Ribeye. The individual who brought out our steaks was not our waitress, not sure if he was a manager or not. He argued with my husband, three times telling him my husband was wrong and that it was a ribeye. We know our steaks and it was a strip and looked totally different from the first steak that had come out. We wish this individual would have said, "I'm sorry this is not what you are expecting. What can I do to make this right." But, all he did was tell my husband he was wrong. We didn't even complain about the fact that for the third time, our steaks were not cooked correctly. All we had wanted was a quiet, early Father's Day celebration and to enjoy some delicious steak. My husband's steak was taken off the bill. He didn't eat a bite of it. We paid full price for my steak and tipped our waitress generously because none of this was her fault. All she did was apologize and treat us well. I felt bad for her and kept telling her that none of this was her fault. What a disappointing 90 minutes and almost $70 to leave without my husband getting his Father's Day steak. I cannot recommend Ted's and we won't be returning. If you look at my reviews, I overwhelming leave 5 star reviews and love to celebrate a great experience. Sadly, I cannot advocate for Ted's. Go to Salt grass, Cheddars or Cowboy Star to enjoy a much better...
Read moreFrom start to finish…utter disaster. Entering the restaurant, the stifling heat hit us in the face.
We ordered two drinks at the bar while waiting for our table to be bussed. We were seated at 6:30 pm. The drinks that we ordered arrived at 6:45. Why?
The restaurant was incredibly hot. I let the waitress know, and she said she would let the mgmt know. BTW she was obviously distressed by the heat visibly being sweaty herself.
After 15 more minutes, the furnace finally shut off. The horrible heat never subsided. Our food then took 75 minutes to be delivered to our table. No explanations were ever given. The meals included unacceptably huge stalks of broccoli that were very undercooked. My bison meatloaf was room temperature.
My second drink (Diet Coke and captain Morgan) was nearly transparent with a few melting ice cubes at the top. I took a sip and it was not what I or anyone at the table ordered.
Over this evening, we ordered four dinners and seven alcoholic drinks. Our meal was $150 or thereabouts.
I have been a long-standing customer since this location opened. I have always enjoyed it and recommended it to others. Many, many special occasions have been happily celebrated there.
After 90 minutes of enduring the ridiculous heat, I couldn’t sit still anymore. I went and physically complained again to the hostess and another waitress.
A male wearing what appeared to be a black cook uniform came to the table and essentially said the restaurant temperature was out of his hands and that it was required to be that hot. It was ludicrous. He said he had no control. I can’t imagine how it’s possible no one at that location can maintain a comfortable temperature. I understand the challenges given the front door etc. I have much experience in that location. Never, ever have I been so uncomfortable.
After dining at this location more than 100+ times, I am finished. I will never recommend it to anyone again. It is perfectly outrageous the experience we had, and I was and am personally embarrassed having recommended and arranged for this fiasco.
All of us at the table were miserable the entire time. I can’t be more disappointed. I am 5’5” and 125# and was wearing one layer. I couldn’t even consider putting on my coat as we left and drove home in 30 degree weather just to try to cool down.
Continue this, and I don’t see a future for this location. I deserve a refund and a huge apology at the very least. My very special...
Read moreI'd like to be real about our visit with positive and negative issues. I'll finish with the positive.
Negative: our first visit ever (2021) we sat in a booth which was great. Each time after we are placed at a table in the middle of the room and the chairs are painfully uncomfortable, there isn't enough room for the wait staff (or other patrons) to walk by without constantly bumping your chair. If they got rid of the small tables for 2 along the west wall it would solve the squished space problem. Maybe those chairs are uncomfortable so you hurry and finish to leave. They are very small and wooden. The back is round so your purse will fall off (and it did) repeatedly (and it was bumped too).
There is no place for the center table people to hang coats (we are in winter here and everyone has coats). There were two small hooks for the booths and we used 1 of them piling all of our coats on it (but then it got in the way of the wait staff bumping it to get to the booths).
The food. Not good. My $16 Big Sky salad was so small and barely any actual lettuce. Spouse had $20 meatloaf that was so small and spuds we not cooked all the way so lumpy. We had to ask for dinner rolls. We were not charged for them.
It was BAKING HOT in the place.
As we left the bar area was empty and there was one guy there. We wanted to get our picture taken with our group and he was bothered we asked but did it anyway. Surprisingly the photo was awful including the cleaning supplies and inside of the bar - which is cool but we were 10 feet from him so it seems all of that junk behind the bar could have been avoided?
Positives
Table for 6 reservations were easy to make.
The size of the table is awesome for our group and elbow space and conversation. I love that about the tables! We didn't have anyone else's conversation at all.
Dessert was the brownie and it was delicious.
Our server, Krystal, was AWESOME. So friendly, always buzzing around taking care of things...
