Unforgettable Night at Billiards Downtown Columbia, MO Rating: ★★★★★ What an incredible experience we had at Billiards Downtown Columbia, MO! Our visit was filled with endless joy, laughter, and high-spirited camaraderie - a much-needed girls' night out with my two sisters. The moment we walked in, the atmosphere welcomed us with a blend of warm, friendly vibes and exciting energy, making it an ideal place for catching up and creating memories. The staff were extremely accommodating, ensuring we felt comfortable and well-tended to throughout our stay. Our night was brimming with fun and laughter as we engaged in friendly competition at the billiards tables. Whether you're a pro or a newbie at the game, the tables at Billiards Downtown are perfect for a playful rivalry. And believe me, the laughter that ensued from our game mishaps only added to the charm of the night. In addition to the game, the location is conveniently downtown, making it a perfect pit stop for an evening out. But it's more than just a pit stop - Billiards Downtown is a destination in its own right. A night at Billiards Downtown Columbia, MO is more than just a game of pool; it's about the people you're with and the memories you make. So, if you're looking for a place that offers not just great entertainment, but also a great environment for spending quality time with loved ones, this is the spot for you. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back for another round of games and giggles. Cheers to Billiards Downtown Columbia, MO for a truly unforgettable night!

Okay experience. Wait staff is not trained. They don't accept American Express which is huge for me... especially when I feel certain that staff is taught/trained to ask for other form of payment (due to higher processing fee associated w Amex; I would rather be asked to pay a higher percentage of transaction fee then just told "no",... just saying...) So when said all I had was Amex (even though actually had other credit cards in wallet available to use) the bartender literally lulled the drink away from me and said... "Well okay then..."... then just walked away from me...?... not to tend to other patron or anything, just turned back to me and that was that... terrible! Now then... on to the food... it was really flavorful... I would eat there again... I would go back again... great spot to spend time w friends if you enjoy shooting pool, greasy food, moderately priced beer, blah, blah, blah...

If you are looking for a great burger, this is the spot. They are super juicy, not too greasy, and if you like cheese, the cheese is super melted and perfect. Cheese curds are SUPER garlicky, which I thought were great, but if you are not big on garlic, I would stay clear. They were not super greasy either, and they had a nice crunch before getting to the super melty stringy cheese. My partner had the fried mushrooms, said they were fresh, have a good flavor, and was served with excellent ranch. Bathrooms were super clean. Service was super fast and very attentive. The tables, weren't super clean and a little sticky, either from not being "clean" or from the varnish starting to come off. Overall a good experience.

Okay, I grew up in the resturant business and can understand a large table top coming in and slowing things down. However, forgetting about your smaller tables is a huge no no. Things started out great. Then our waiter disappeared and didn't come back after we placed our order. However, we were a bit slow to order so we understand possibly having to wait a bit longer for our food. We had our two little ones with us and our two year old was starving...a two year old toddler can chew off your arm in case you have never known one! We did order the fried pickles with our drinks...which did not come for over 30 min. Did I mention that my beer was piss WARM? And our son was getting loud bc he was hungry and I was not ready to sacrifice my arm... We watched the other tables get served while our kids went hungry and my arm became more and more in jeopardy of getting a chunk taken out. Did I mention my husband's beer was piss warm too??? Still no waiter. Over an hour later our food arrived. The "famous" French fries would have been fantastic...if they hadn't been served ice COLD. All of them. I guess that was good for the babies so they could finally eat something! We had ordered a double burger...and got a single which was the same thickness as a McDonald's burger...and we hate McDonald's. I am still confused at why the chicken strips and small burger were hot but the fries were COLD. We also got the "bout died fries"....the chili was good...but there were hardly any fries with the chili and "fries"???! Guess I can give credit where its due and say that the flavor of the burgers, fried pickles and side salad were good. The flavor of the cold fries would have have been very good too....but if you love French fries you know that cold fries are AWFUL... especially home fries! We would have let them know and try to get fresh fries...but no one ever came back before the kids had finished eating, while I sat wishing that I had HOT French fries and COLD beer. We won't be back unless we just want to play pool...and grab a COLD drink, from ACROSS the...

I've had good and bad experiences at Billiards. I've sat at the bar and had some homeless guy try to pick a fight with me as the bartender watched without saying a word. And I've had a server take my order and disappear as my food grew cold on the bar. I eventually walked over and got the food myself. When she finally returned to my table and gave me the bill she asked me how everything was. I mentioned the fact that my food was sitting on the bar until I got up and got it myself. She told me she was busy cleaning tables in the back of the restaurant. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I thought, "Who on earth trained this girl?"

I've worked at restaurants (including 2 1/2 years at the Heidelberg) and I can tell you that none of the servers I've worked with would dream of telling a customer they were too busy to bring their food to the table. "I was busy" isn't much of an excuse and it wouldn't fly at most restaurants. Rather than making excuses what you're supposed to do is clean your tables while keeping an eye on the bar so you can get the customer's food as soon as it's cooked. You're expected to both clean the tables AND take food to customers.

On other occasions the service was OK and the food was good. Overall, this is a decent restaurant that could use some improving. I don't think it's being managed as well as it could be. At the places where I worked there was always a manager in the dining room watching everything that was happening. I don't think this is the case at Billiards. Whenever I've been to Billiards, the only employees I've seen was a bartender and one or two servers. I haven't been to Billiards in about a year. If it's anything like it was a year ago, the owner should consider hiring someone to keep an eye...
