I've been to shilohs twice. First experience was nothing to write home about but it was fine for a college sports bar
Second experience on the other hand was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. Upon arriving I was informed that there was a $5 cover because it was "bingo night", as I was supposed to be meeting a friend there I said give me a minute and let me make sure this is okay and if she wants to pay $5 cover on a Wednesday night just to get some drinks and food. The bouncer then said never mind you are good come on in. I proceed to order beers for myself while waiting on my friend. My friend shows up and they inform her there is a $5 cover, and even after mentioning that she's meeting a freida there that didn't pay cover 5 minutes ago they would not let her in without paying cover. I closed my tab and will never be returning to shilohs.
While $5 is not alot of money and I don't have a problem with them charging it, the problem i have is them lying to me about charging it while me and my friend could of simply went to another one of the (better) restaurants in Columbia.
On top of the issue with the cover, the Mich Ultra draft i ordered was flat, and did not taste anything like mixh ultra.
The first time I went to shilohs I was impressed with their patio, and the food/beer was good enough, but after my experience on the second time I can solidly say that there are better restaurants in Columbia for less money.
Long story short-...
Read moreLet me start off by saying they were not that busy during the time I was attending this bar. The service sucked. Our waitress barely visited our table, food is way more Expensive than it is worth, and she was annoyed anytime we asked for something. I watched our waitress stand and chit chat with her other waitress friends while we were waiting on some food to be delivered. The food sat on a tray near her getting cold durning her Oh so important 8 minute conversation. I attend Thursday night Trivia at this bar and I will not be purchasing any food anymore. Their alcoholic drinks are very light handed I was served and amaretto sour that had very little alcohol in it. And when the night was over and we ask for our $100 check, we had separate cash to give for the tip as well as the check itself. I handed the money directly to the waitress and stated this is your tip money this is the money we are paying with please bring us the change for the money we are paying with. The waitress never brought us back the $10 in change that we were owed. We had to involve a manager and advise them what had happened because the waitress at that time had left without notifying us. Over all it was not a great experience. Trivia...
Read moreI visited in a group of 9 to celebrate senior send off as they were offering a 50% off deal for graduating seniors. There was no host so we sat ourselves and ended up going to the bar to get our drinks where Kaylen was the only bartender on duty for a full bar. She provided excellent service and I eventually returned to our table with our drinks. We never had a server approach us to take our food order so I had to flag someone down by the server station as management thought that three servers was more than enough for the entire establishment even when running a deal. We ended up waiting for a moment for our food as the kitchen was probably understaffed as well. Eventually it arrived and at least my entree was overall quite bland but I had waited over an hour and a half so I did end up eating it. When the bill arrived they tried to say that it was only 25% off our bill so we spoke to a manager because this wasn’t at all what they had been marketing. Our server Kaylee was very responsive but was simply not able to give us the time we needed as there was no supporting staff. All in all I’d say the management team needs to set their staff up for success as they clearly aren’t...
