Was here with my sister to grab some lunch. Ordered veggie sandwiches with sautéed peppers, onions, and mushrooms. My sister’s sandwich had three small pieces of mushies, two tomatoes, and skimpy onions/peppers. She went up to request a little more mushrooms, as that’s the one thing firehouse has over subway. They literally gave her three more small pieces of mushrooms, COLD! Lol I found this funny, because it felt like the cook was basically telling her to bug off by doing such an act. My question is this: does a single sub on your menu, that has mushrooms on it, call for it to be cold? Chances are they are all expected to have cooked (HEATED) shrooms. When my sister brought this to their attention, the staff did offer to replace the sandwich. My sister denied, saying that she had already ate half of it, she had just wanted a bit more HOT mushrooms for the rest of the sandwich, but the insult had already been felt. We was given a card to speak with the general manager, to bring to her attention the situation, and maybe get some clarification (either for us, or the cook). The number we got just went to the store, where my sister was blatantly told that she was at fault for not telling the cook what temperature she wanted her mushrooms. What baffles me is, if the mushrooms are called sautéed, wouldn’t one assume they be served hot? Yes, they are precooked, but if not a single sandwich on your menu calls for cold mushrooms, then unless specified otherwise, one would assume they be hot when asking for more to go on a sandwich that had only three pieces.
This reflects poorly on the cook, whether that’s due to poor training or lack of passion for his job. This also reflects poorly on the management for shifting blame instead of taking accountability for maybe not having solid clarification on the standards the company should be upholding. Either way, the experience was lack luster, and made a hopeful lunch more or less a disappointment in all regards.
I certainly hope this experience highlighted some potential retraining opportunities for the staff, as it’s good to take something from all types of criticism. However, I know it’ll just be swept under the rug as a disgruntled, picky customer just trying to cause trouble. Either way, if your a future customer reading this review, make sure you tell the cook what temperature you want...
Read moreI want to start by saying that I LOVE Firehouse Subs. My co worker always buys them for us for lunch. I’ve never heard of this business before working with her. Today I decided to order them on my own. It was my first time using the app. I accidentally ordered my sandwich without bread. I told the man at the counter & he went to tell the manger. They both returned to the counter with condescending attitudes. The manager was literally talking about me while I was standing right there. Then he tells me that he would remake it this time but I should pay attention. I was baffled because I knew I made a mistake. I had no problem with purchasing just bread on the side. I also never asked for my sandwich to be remade. I didn’t like the way they made me feel. It was like I was the worst customer and this was the biggest inconvenience. When my sandwich was remade, they slapped my box on the counter, didn’t put it in a new bag or even the old bag & walked away. I couldn’t even say thank you or that I apologize… so I just shook my head & said “great customer service”. I don’t think I’ll ever...
Read moreOur very first time at any Firehouse Subs and the subs were delicious! I had read about Firehouse Subs in an article and how they were some of the best fast food chain subs in America, so when we saw that there were quite a few in Missouri during our trip we just had to drop by one of them. We came thru on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet here at first, but there were a few customers that dropped in shortly after we sat down. The employees here were extremely friendly to us from the get go. They asked if we we had been to a Firehouse Subs before, which we hadn't, and they explained the menu, how to order and the add-on items to us. They eventually asked the same question to subsequent customers, so I assume it was policy to always ask confused looking...
