I don't work there. I got there around 9:30pm, the snow was falling down covering the ice on the abandoned streets, and honestly I was on my way to Pancheros. When I saw that Slim Chicken was opened I pulled into the empty parking lot. As the snow blew all around me, a young woman opened the door to let me in. It was a warm reception as I was welcomed by no fewer than 3 cheerful employees. As I looked upon the menu with a sense of wonder and bewilderment, I was instructed to take my time. "Chicken and Waffles!" came my reply. I was given a number, and had my choice of almost every table in the restaurant. The music was upbeat, but not overpowering, and being the only customer, my food was delivered quickly, and with the same warmth and attentiveness as their initial greeting. It looked wonderful, and it was hot and fresh. While I was eating an employee named Shannon came over to my table and asked how it was and whether or not I had ever eaten Chicken and waffles before. I could tell that he was genuinely interested in feedback, and not just fishing for compliments. When I mentioned that I'd like a better look at the menu, he brought a take out menu to the table for me to peruse. After the first course, I returned for their cayenne ranch chicken sandwich. It was so hot that I burned my mouth on the first bite. After letting it cool down, I was impressed by the peppery flavors. The chicken was perfect, because it covered the bun, and was only lightly breaded. The sauce complimented the flavor of the chicken perfectly, and the fried onion straws lended just the right amount of saltiness. Shannon stopped by again to see whether I liked the sandwich and whether there was anything else I needed. After I was done with my sandwich, the cashier, Rapheal, offered to take my trash, and asked if I wanted a refill. As I was walking out, one employee was shoveling the entrance while Shannon scattered salt. I will be back to try their tenders with their sauces as well as their chicken wraps. They're off to a great start. They seem to having a winning team. I hope they can keep...
Read moreFirst experience was horrible. Used the drive thru. Ordered and paid for the chicken sandwich. Received chicken tenders. That wasn't the worst. Started eating the mushrooms and noticed an insect leg poking out of one. That made me pretty upset. I called and talked to Jesse, the GM, told me to come see him. I returned to the restaurant to see Jesse and was told he'd be out in s couple minutes. After waiting for approximately 5 minutes another guy came up and said "Jesse isn't here right now. How can I help you?" Not even 3 seconds later Jesse came out of the back. That guy had no problem lying straight to my face. I showed them the food and they said it was a string or something but took my food in the back. Then they started asking me what I wanted them to do about it. I was so uncomfortable. Jesse fimally made the decision to refund my money and on top of it gave me a gift card. Jesse seemed like an upstanding guy, like he really cared about my concerns. The other guy disappeared into the back. My problem with the whole experience wasn't necessarily the food, but the blatant disrespect by the other guy by lying to me. I also didn't care for the fact that they put me on the spot by trying to make me tell them what I wanted them to do. Customer...
Read moreMy husband loves this place and he's probably been back almost once a week for the past couple months, and we've brought coworkers, friends, and family with us too. Generally, we have a great experience. Last night was weird, though. I got the distinct feeling that we were inconveniencing employee Corey when we asked for a meal plate and a salad. Those have usually come with medium drinks so I was surprised when he charged us for large drinks, even though we didn't ask for the sizes to be upgraded. That's a very shady thing to do.
The icing on the cake was when I walked up to he counter to ask for a box and a lid for my salad. You know how a child looks when they're pretending they can't see you? And how obvious it is? That's what Corey did to me. He turned his back to me when he saw me walking up and conveniently turned the opposite way when I said "excuse me" and tried to move into his line of sight. Customers, 15ft away in the dining area, were watching this happen with dropped jaws because they heard me the first, second, and third time I moved and said "excuse me". Another employee was stifling laughter and attempting to stay out of my line of sight. I think Corey needs to take some acting lessons or maybe some coaching on how to...
