Med Mex Cafe — Restaurant in Columbia Township

Incredible. MedMex café is a fusión of Mexican and Mediterranean food. They have a lot of the staple Mexican foods like tacos, tortas, burritos, fajitas, etc as well as lots of Mediterranean foods like Shawarma, falafel, and hummus.

I would say their Mexican food really shines more than the Mediterranean - this is genuinely one of the best Mexican restaurants in Columbia. But the real charm is that you can mix and mash to get, for example, meat prepared taco-style with your hummus and pita.

My personal favorite item there is the Torta Mix (Torta Mezcla) or Torta Cubano (if you like eggs). It's the absolute best torta you can get in Columbia. Grilled chicken, steak, and ham on a soft bun with their verde sauce makes for an amazing meal.

Lastly, they are super nice. It's usually the same one or two people who take my order at the front and the same chef who brings it out. One of the often checks midway through the meal how we liked everything. Top-notch.

We have been before with a large party on the occasion of my birthday I knew that I would have a lovely meal. On arrival we were shown to our table by the lovely lady owner. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable. We place our orders, starters of bread and olives ( yummy) we ordered a bottle of red wine and for our main dish we each ordered a steak, mine with Dianne sauce and my brother choose pepper sauce. The steaks were perfectly cooked the service splendid. And a nice surprise awaited for me when the owner returned with a cake and candles. How lovely. I left Riyadh 20 years ago and my son knew how much I missed falafel, baba ghanouj, dolma, baklava, and more. So we went to dinner here. I was in heaven with their Mediterranean menu. Completely fell in love with this flavorful and authentic cuisine!! The owner is friendly, helpful and guided me to the perfect combo. I'm happy to say it's exactly like the delicious food I left behind in Saudi. If you want something different and unique, visit MedMex!! You will not be disappointed.
