I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service and overall experience at your Columbia, Missouri location on January 15, 2025. My colleagues and I were looking forward to enjoying a meal during our lunch break, but unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating from start to finish.
We arrived at approximately 12:45 p.m., and from the moment we were seated, the service was unacceptably slow and disorganized. It took over five minutes for our waitress to approach the table to take our drink order, followed by another ten minutes to deliver three waters and three sodas. At that point, we were ready to order, but our waitress did not take our food order until much later. To add to the frustration, one of our drinks was incorrect — a Coke was mistakenly substituted with Diet Coke. When we pointed this out, the waitress informed us that the syrup for regular Coke was out, and after a delay, she brought a Dr. Pepper as a replacement.
We informed her that we were on a time constraint due to our lunch break, but despite this, it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. During this entire time, the waitress never once checked in with us. Eventually, we had to ask for our food to be packed to go, as we were running out of time. When I went to the kitchen to request take-out containers, I discovered that all of our food had been left sitting on the pass, growing cold. Instead of promptly packing our food for us, the kitchen staff chose to delay the process further, causing even more frustration.
When it came time to pay, the experience only worsened. I asked to pay with cash, and while doing so, I requested both my change and a receipt. The waitress seemed confused about how much change to give me and had to ask another employee for assistance. Ultimately, I received my change but was not provided with a receipt — and no one in our party was offered one. Additionally, while the waitress mentioned the restaurant was busy, this was clearly not the case. At the time of my visit, there were only a handful of customers, and I observed multiple staff members standing idly in the kitchen talking.
Several members of my group had visited your restaurant in the past and had positive experiences, which is why we chose this location for our lunch. However, based on this visit, I can confidently say it will be my first and last time dining at your restaurant. I was so upset by the entire experience that I did not eat any of my food, which had become cold by the time it was finally brought to me. As a result, I wasted $12 and change on food I did not consume. My colleagues, although they did manage to eat their meals, have all expressed that they will not be returning in the future.
This experience was an utter disappointment, and I hope you take this feedback seriously to improve the service at this location. We expected much more based on prior visits, but unfortunately, we left feeling frustrated, ignored, and dissatisfied.
If I could give everything a big FAT "0"...
Read moreMy review does not address the food or drink, because we didn’t get that far. This is only a review of the service, or more accurately, the total lack of service on the night we visited. And of course, it only addresses my own experience, but I wanted to make sure the management hears about this total FAIL. My wife and I had been driving for nearly 12 hours on Thursday, Oct 5 from Colorado, arriving in Columbia about 8:45pm and hoping to catch some football on TV as we ate dinner. We were tired, very hungry, and thirsty. As we walked in, the hostess was doing some housekeeping at the entry, and we joked with her about whether or not the restaurant was still open and serving food. This was lighthearted, and she said things were a little slow and she was taking advantage of the opportunity. I mention this to make it clear that the restaurant was not chaotic and busy. She escorted us to our table near the bar and handed us our menus. As we looked over the menus, we also looked around the general area to see which games were being displayed (college and pro), and from my vantage point I was eyeing the selections of draft beers in the bar. As the minutes passed, we also started to look around to see who might be serving our table. We counted FIVE waitresses working in the room in which we were seated, including, at one time, two cleaning the same table. Three tables were cleaned while we sat there hoping to at least send in a drink order. Half of the tables and booths in the room were empty. I mention this (again) to make it clear that the restaurant was not chaotic and busy. As we sat there, looking for a server, we received nothing: no smile, no eye contact, and no service, for a total of 15 minutes. I would have been happy with “I’ll be right with you,” but we got nothing. We got up and walked out, and when we passed the hostess on the way out, I mentioned to her that we had never even been approached by a server. I could tell by her expression that she was shocked. I wanted her to know that I was not “landing” on her, but I hoped that she would pass along the blatant failure of the servers. We left the restaurant and drove a block away to the LongHorn Steakhouse. Suggestion to management: Send your servers to LongHorn for some proper training in...
Read moreWe visited this new location yesterday for lunch (a Saturday) and sat at the high tops by the bar. Our server was fantastic and even offered recommendations! We got the Cobb and Avery salad - very good and large portions! Took us some time to decide what to order but the food came out in about 20 minutes. Only downfall to this visit was the loud basketball game right behind our wall; we didn’t even know it was there so we spent some time confused lol.
Forward to today, Sunday, for dinner. Our waitress did not know the menu which we are understanding of being a new establishment. First tried to order the Tuscan chicken and were told they were all out but we could get the lemon chicken instead (somewhat confusing if there is chicken still why only one could be made and not the other). Decided on the Redfish and a Grown up grilled cheese. It took about 50 minutes for our food to come out. The Redfish, a $20 plate, was an extremely small portion compared to the online images on the website. The grilled cheese was good but the fries were cold. We had our plates for about 10 minutes and while eating our waitress came back and asked if we wanted dessert and then if we were ready for our bill, while I was working on the first half of my sandwich. We sat in the main foyer this visit and the basketball game was...
