Avoid this Sonic location at all costs!!! Two weeks ago, I picked my mother up from dialysis and went to this Sonic on Harbison. I ordered two (2) Strawberry Cream Slushies in the drive through. I paid, they then asked me to pull forward. I waited for about 10 minutes before I had to go inside the store to get the two cream slushies. After I got them, I informed the staff that I would never again pull forward to wait for slushies. The lady just smiled and said, "Ok". Fast forward to May 6, 2023, I picked my mother up from Dialysis and I ordered two (2) Strawberry Cream Slushies. I paid for them and waited for about a minute before the lady that took my payment asked me to pull forward. I said, " I would not because last time I came through for two (2) cream slushies I had to wait 10 minutes and still had to go in to get them." She said, "Ummm, ok!" Then, Suray, the assistant manager, (who needs more/better training in customer service and humility) came to the window and asked me to pull forward and I again stated, " No, because last time I was here I had to wait 10 minutes and still had to go in to get them." Suray, the "assistant manager" then stated, "I am going to refund your order and you can leave." Mind you, there is no written policy that states if you do not pull forward your order will be cancelled. It is not illegal to say that you won't pull forward. As he was pushing the buttons to cancel the order a lady came up behind him with the two slushies and he said to this lady, "Don't worry about it." She proceeded to throw them away and then Suray finished pushing the buttons to cancel the order and then proceeded to refund the money, as the lady with the cream slushies was throwing them away, Suray then gave me the receipts for my refund. Basically, he could had given me the cream slushies and I would have been on my way. Instead, Suray's ego and hubris was more important. I contacted their corporate office and was told that there is no policy that states to cancel an order if the customer does not pull forward. I recieved two route 44 coupons for any free drink or slushie by their corporate office. I was then given the number to a "Jason" who is apparently the supervisor, the general manager, the district manager, and the regional manager. Jason stated that he did not care about corporate and all he was going to get was an email with my contact information which he was going to delete. So I destroyed their metrics for the day regarding drive through service time by sitting at their window for about 25 minutes. Eventually a shift leader of this store told me that the pulling forward bit is listed in their employee handbook but he agreed that it is not written or communicated to customers. Read more7/19/2024 11pm: McDonald's ice cream machine was down so I headed over to Sonic for my family's ice cream. I ordered 3 small sonic blasts for over $18. When I reviewed my blasts two had sufficient topping and one was lacking topping. I asked the drive thru cashier for more for that one and she said she would have to charge me. I asked for a manager. "Surrey" (SUH-RAY) came over and told me he made them himself and put 3 scoops of topping in each. I showed him near the bottom it was mainly white ice cream instead of oreos. He was condescending and asked me if I knew what oreos look like, he scoldingly said he's been there 6.5 years, ranted about food cost going up, and dumbfoundedly asked if I needed him to write down and spell his name for me. HE THEN AFTER ALL THAT STILL SAID I HAD TO PAY MORE MONEY TO MAKE THAT ONE BLAST RIGHT!!! Customer service was a complete joke and maybe upgrade his vision plan so he can see BLACK oreo pieces in ice cream. Night shift at Sonic is trending in a negative direction consistently....
SEVERAL MONTHS AGO: This is becoming a constant terrible experience in the evening shift. The drive thru time was 40 minutes tonight. I arrived at 11pm and wasn't pulling off until 11:41pm. When I made it to the speaker to order, the gentlemen told me to hold they were switching shifts. (I came to this same location at 3 am and was told they were switching shifts. Maybe they switch shifts every few hours.) That took 15 minutes of waiting to order. I order sausage patties, French toast, and a lemonade. Read morei am currently sitting in the parking lot of this sonic location attempting to order milkshakes for my children and I. the girl informed me they were closed until 4:45 and when I asked why she couldn’t provide an answer. I then watched her walk to her homegirls car, snacking on a bag of chips, and hit her homegirls blunt. they then proceeded to sit in the parking lot and smoke the entire blunt while I sat here waiting to order. three other cars pulled in behind me to order and the girls still kept on smoking and refused to take any orders. It’s 4:30. i’ve been here since 3:47.
