So we had reservations for 11 people. Unfortunately there was a graduation that day so the streets were blocked off to the restaurant. We called to let them know that we were goin to be late because of that, the guy on the phone had an awful attitude. He was saying well how long are yall gonna be because we have people in and out. We’re like sir, we’re trying to detour now, we don’t have a time. Well I need to know exactly. Sir, maybe 10-15 mins. Him: well ok Upon entry , we were not greeted. And no customers were in the restaurant! No one was in and out. We literally were the only people there then another table of maybe 4 people came in that was it allll night! Ordering my food, I asked for a ribeye. Oh we’re out of ribeyes. Me: why wasn’t that stated before ordering? Oh we’re changing our menu so we just don’t have any. Again, that should have been stated. I didn’t get dressed up to eat chicken wings and they were HUGE! I didn’t eat them. $6 for a basket of fries. $20 for a shot of Don Julio Anejo. Let’s say I won’t be goin back! A high priced Applebees, that’s where I could have went for less money and...
Read moreGolden Spur just doesn’t have the quality to justify the cost of their food. We got the Pretzel and cheese $11 - which was basically just 2 frozen food aisle pretzels I’m not even joking.
Bread basket $6- it was a couple random pieces of slightly hard bread and a small pat of butter and honey. Not big soft bread like normal restaurants (that’s usually complimentary at that)
The biggest gripe I had was that their entrees are A La Carte now but at combo prices. I got the chicken tenders and it was $16 with no sides! How crazy is that. The tenders were good but tasted like fast food ones. An order of fries was an extra $6. Absolutely insane to me.
The final straw was that they charge $1 per sauce yet our server only filled each small cup 1/3rd of the way. It just feels greedy at that point.
The atmosphere is still the same as when it was 1801 bros, which is nice. And the servers were polite.
All in all, with everything around the area, this place...
Read moreI found out about this place from the ColaToday newsletter issue dated 12/11/2024. The issue listed several Soda Citizens and traveling food influencers from the area. I checked out @David_mcnamara and he was the first to review this place. Well I had to check this place out right after work. I'm glad I did. Chris the bartender was great. He recommended a few dishes. I chose the Chicken Souvlaki Gyro with fries! It was delicious! The atmosphere is encouraging. What I mean by that is it presents a new vibe for Columbia. Something like what you would find in Charlotte, NC. They have plans on expanding on that vibe. You wouldn't be sorry if you came here. I plan on going back for brunch and dinner soon. The menu has a lot of great items to choose from and I plan on trying...
