I am very disappointed in the service we received tonight. We ordered a carry out to avoid people and interactions with large crowds as recommended by the CDC. While placing the order we were assured by the employee that curb side carryout was available. When we arrived we saw every table outside of the establishment packed and no one attending the curbside carryout tent that was in place. After waiting 5 mins for an employee to return to the post we decided to track down our order. When I entered the building the hostess ushered me to a side table that was in a high traffic area with workers coming in and out of the kitchen as well as customers who were waiting to be seated. The hostess was nice enough to practice social distancing, unfortunately, the other employees and the general public did not seem aware that they were to keep their distance. As a result I was surrounded by folks who were in close contact with one another, who were not wearing PPE. The other issue that bothered me was the practice of the hostess. She checked each bill fold for my order, then closed it which forced me to touch extra surfaces and objects instead of signing the check right then and there. After signing for the bill, they returned to the kitchen to get the other half of my order and told me to wait inside. I was then exposed to more employees and customers who weren't respectful to my personal space. Once I received my full order, I walked out to another large gathering of young people waiting just outside the door. The last thing I would like to point out is once we got home to our pizza it was so dry and cold it was like chewing through leather.
I am very disappointed in this experience. We had come here two other times this past winter and had amazing experiences. I understand with the pandemic that we all need to be flexible, but not when it comes to public safety. This experience makes me concerned for Thirsty Fellows as a business as well as the customers who have gone to this establishment since reopening. I really hope no one gets sick from their lack of management in regard to social distancing and customer expectations.
Please, follow the rules and take this life threatening virus...

If you’re anywhere near Columbia, SC, Thirsty Fellow absolutely needs to be on your food list!
The atmosphere was fantastic—spacious indoor seating and a vibrant outdoor patio made for the perfect backdrop to a special day with family and friends.
But let’s talk food—wow! The quality was excellent, and the portions were generous to the point of being overwhelming (in the best way). You’ll feel like you’re getting unbelievable value. On our server Skyler’s recommendation (a 3+ year Thirsty Fellow team member), I tried the made-to-order white pizza with mozzarella, caramelized onions, bacon, Peppadew peppers, basil, and a finishing drizzle of truffle oil. It was phenomenal—crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside, and the flavor combination was perfect deliciousness.
Everyone in our group of 14 loved their food! From the southern BBQ sandwich to the firecracker shrimp, grilled cheese with bacon, salmon salad, meatball sub, and pepperoni pizza, and more- there wasn’t a single miss.
Special recognition goes to Skyler, who provided exceptional service with speed, professionalism, and a smile. She kept our large group organized, gave timely check-ins, and made sure everyone got their meals without long waits. Food came out hot and in well-timed back to back waves—no small feat for a group our size. The entire staff worked together seamlessly, creating a smooth and joyful dining experience. Inside the restaurant is a great atmosphere and the restrooms are very clean.
This day was especially meaningful as we were celebrating my son’s graduation from boot camp at Ft. Jackson. Thank you, Skyler, and the entire Thirsty Fellow team for contributing to such a memorable evening with flawless service, delicious food, and a fun, relaxed vibe.

Read moreThirsty Fellow Pizzeria and Pub co owner and today’s manager Kellie Hertzog is a smart mouth woman who can’t even hear that they dropped the ball. When breaking us up into two different tables our food never came out until one table had already finished. Came out when requested and just smarted off to our whole table. Just an oh well and when requested again got argumentative and stomped off to the back to tell us what time our food was put in and was like a 30 minute turnaround isn’t a bad turn around……. Which would be true of we hadn’t put our order in 45 minutes before that time. Which if she would have done her due diligence to look when the other half our party’s order was put in as well and knowing that we all ordered together, would have figured out that the server had missed putting ours in for 45 minutes. Which is why they got theirs and we didn’t, it was actually her smart mouth that gave us that info. But nothing but an o well and you don’t understand the restaurant business and what would we do if we owned it. Not knowing my family does own a business and my husbands dad is an actual professional chef. We are actually really accommodating for restaurants. No one should ever be subjected to her and her pathetic ability to be there and have any form of customer service. While we have been before plenty we will never recommend or go there again. Because of her personally, I know it was a server error which totally happens, if they would have just acknowledged there mess up we would have been fine. But a smart mouth and o well. If we weren’t sure that she’s the type of person who would have made the server pay for it we would have...
