Ali Baba Gyros — Restaurant in Columbus

I’ve ordered from this food truck several times, but each experience has been disappointing.

The first time, it took almost an hour just to get one chicken over rice. The staff seemed very relaxed and unconcerned, while I had to wait outside in the middle of winter. The food was terrible—the so-called hot sauce was just red-colored water poured over the salad.

On another occasion, I clearly ordered chicken over rice, but after waiting nearly 30 minutes, they gave me a chicken gyro instead. When I pointed out the mistake, the staff simply said, “Oh, I charged you for a gyro. You need to pay $4 more for chicken over rice and wait again.” No apology, no courtesy—just poor customer service. I felt like I was being treated worse than the food they serve.

For the price they charge, I could easily get better food and service from another food truck.

I’ve had enough. If you’re looking for good food, respectful service, and fair pricing, I strongly recommend avoiding this food truck.

Although they might not be quite ready for business if you show up first thing at 11am, it will be worth the wait. I wouldn't solely rely on the hours listed here on Google Maps.

MENU ITEMS: He made me fresh falafel even though it was not on the menu listed on the truck, and it was very good.

INGREDIENTS: The produce on the gyro was fresh. None of that old brown chopped up iceberg you often get at gyro spots. Plenty of real, green lettuce. Fresh onion and tomato.

SAUCE: The house sauce is good and tangy. He added just the right amount, and I didn't find myself wishing I had asked for more.

PORTION: This is not a huge or overstuffed gyro. If you're hoping to fill up on the gyro alone, I recommend asking for more meat (or falafel). He seems like a reasonable man.

Won't ever eat here again. 12$ for a small gyro and fry. There's 3 better gyro places within a mile. There's kabob time on High and Hudson $10.99 gyro fry combo, there's the halal place oh high and Blake, gyro fry combo 9.99$, and to where I should've went is the red gyro truck on Weber and indianola, they have the best tasting gyros...* not here at All baba*, here at Ali baba, they cut up the lamb into tiny pieces to disguise the short meat proportion, we all know that trick... I will never waste 12$ here for gyro fry and NO Drink 12$, when canes is only 10$ with drink, or Wingstop, or sonic or any of the other food choices around. I knew better when they had zero customers before I came, during my 15 minute grilled gyro prep, or after I got my food. I know because I stayed to watch for additional 10 minutes in awe of how...
