First, thanks Google Maps! This app is how I re-found Ange’s Pizza. In fact, I think, subliminally, I was influenced to order from here for the first time in years even though I didn’t think they had just what I wanted. Read on.... — Man, oh, man!!! I was jonesing for deep dish pizza last weekend. I put it off thinking, "nah! I'll just make something at home." And I did. But about three hours later-I must not have eaten enough-I had a craving again.
So, I searched for pizza joints near me that were open late, figuring I'd try something new.
I searched. The usuals popped, up-national chains and locals. There was Ange's and I'd realized I'd not had any in a while. However, I was really on the hunt for deep dish.
I got on a work call and tried to put off my irrational(?) craving. Later that evening, it was back.
So I called them up and was placing my order when I said to the guy, "man, I wish you guys had deep dish. The guy said, "are you kidding? We make a great Chicago-style deep dish!" Ends up it doesn't pop up on the menu when I viewed it on my phone but they have them. They are they good!
Stupid me: remember I mentioned that Google Maps had subliminally directed me to Ange’s? Had I paid attention to the images on the Google Maps entry, there is a picture of a splendidly beautiful deep dish pizza, just as I craved. Now, I can’t miss it when open up their page to call. LOL
It was easy to get to, right off of Hilliard Rome by Nike. Lots of parking. I barely made it back into the car before I had to have a bite. It was excellent!!!
I'm a big guy. I look like the stereotype of a former Chicagoan, which I am, who has eaten a few too many deep dish pizzas by himself over the years, which I have. Still, it took me 4 days to finish off their 10". I thought the guy was exaggerating when he said it had close to a couple of pounds of cheese in it. He was not.
Ange's is my new local favorite.
Even better: I asked for and they had anchovies available. I love anchovies! ProTip for the selfish: put anchovies in your pizza and it will last a lot longer. A well-made deep dish pizza is NOT ruined by the judicious inclusion of anchovies, especially when they are baked in and not just dropped on top as an after thought. This means, more for you, my fellow bad-sharer.
TL;DR: great pizza, conveniently located to most (there are actually three locations in central Ohio), excellent value, and very friendly service!
Enjoy!
PS I'm going to order another one...
Read moreI stopped in by chance because I wanted a pizza, and I didn't want to keep going to the same other pizza places, which I've been disappointed with since I've been to Columbus. Many places in Columbus claim to be number one and the best pizza in Columbus or the region of Ohio, and I have to say that they're Liars because they're pizza just ain't all that There may have been a few places that claim to have one Awards for their Pizza may be back in the '80s when they first open they won one after they slip somebody a couple bucks or something but their Pizza just doesn't taste that great to Merit their claims, however Angie's Pizza makes no claims or boasts anything other than having been open since the fifties, and their Pizza is by far the tastiest out of all that I've had here in Columbus and I've partnered tasted everybody's. They use quality ingredients they use TLC when they're making the pizza, so it comes out tasting right, and their customer service is second to none. They were very kind and polite and helpful, answered all my questions. The restaurant was very clean inside and out. I gave the lower score on the atmosphere just because it is an older building. However, it's very clean. I would easily rank this place number one in Columbus and the region of Ohio, even though they're too humble to say so themselves. If you haven't had their pizza, you...
Read morePlaced my first order from this place because after reading reviews on how great the pizza was well went ahead and ordered and will start out on how it was. First I ordered a large pepperoni with mushrooms and when I received it, no mushrooms only pepperoni (person taking the order got it all wrong) breadsticks was not like I hoped for and was bland. The price for two large pizzas was over 50.00 dollars, will say not worth it by a long shot, Dominos has them beat! Always go by your instincts and order from a chain you definitely know! The pizza was so bad and the marinara sauce was horrible as well! Tasted like it came from a can. Never again will I order from this so called been around since 1953 omg don’t how they’ve made it this far. Gotta go my stomach is aching from this horrible pizza need some tums and I never take tums! I’m a small petite female weighing 130 pounds soaking wet! People take my advice and go elsewhere for some good quality pizza!!!!! This isn’t the place and the prices are High! Also was nice and gave the delivery person a 5.00 dollar tip! After the pizza got cold it looked like cafeteria pizza…… Never again will I order from this place. Very very disappointed! Little Caesars has them beat and I hardly ever eat from...
