Aracri Pizzeria — Restaurant in Columbus

I went to this place with a couple friends of mine. We are all professional males in our 40's. We experienced racism from staff which was sad bc thefood is good. Basically we were told we had to pay before we got our food. I told the waitress I eat out a lot and had never heard of that before at a place like this. she told me it was there policy but the look on her face told me otherwise. There was also a group of 8 women eating and I knew they had not paid bc who makes 8 people walk to the register to pay. No One! There was also a white couple sitting next to us. We waited and watched the couple eat and then waitress handed them their bill afterwards. So we asked the waitress politely if we had to pay before hand because we are black and she said the manager told her their was exigent circumstances that required us to pay before we ate. We asked her if those exigent circumstances were that we are black. She said she really needed the job and she really apologized for having to do that and honestly I felt really sad that she did. It's 2022 and these things are still happening. I felt really sad for the waitress bc she looked ashamed. I want her to know she didn't offend us. Times are hard and you are doing what you have to do to make it.

With that being sad I would never go to this place again or recommend...

I am not for sure why this place gets such a high rating. I ordered on Uber eats because I thought that it would be a great place to get some food from based on the reviews. Let me tell you my experience as a chef and a restaurant owner the experience was absolutely horrible. I received my pizza. The pizza was overcooked on the bottom. The pizza had no sauce on it. What so ever you can take a look at the pictures and you can see that there’s no sauce on there whatsoever

Today is Tuesday the day after memorial day at about 1:45 PM. I’m not sure who that’s nasty lady that answered the phone. I called to talk about the problem with the quality of the pizza. She told me that that’s not their problem to call Uber eats for my money back. I’ve been told her I don’t need the money back. I am financially well off. I just wanna talk about the quality of your food she hung up the phone. I called back multiple times. There was no answer whatsoever

My conclusion, everything that glitters is not gold you can pass by this location because my experience was...

I found this place on accident when I was looking for another building. As Dominic, one of the co-owners would later tell me...they call that destiny. Indeed it was, I felt right at home when I walked in and The Devil's Right Hand by Johnny Cash was playing. The atmosphere was great. Hands down it was the single biggest slice of pizza that I have ever had in my life. It was outstanding!! My other family members had sandwiches and spaghetti and I can tell you these guys do not skimp. Generous helpings doesn't even begin to cover it and my family all also loved the food they got.

On the way out, I went over to personally telling the guy tossing the pies and cooking how impressed that I was. He was very friendly and told me his name was Dominic and that he and his sister own this as it is a family owned place.

I would hands down recommend this place to anyone and Dominic, if you read this, Wylie from Iowa will be back the next time...
