The TuesCrew oh Ohio TuesDayTrips decided that in honor of the Super Tuesday primaries, we would do a political based trip. We chose to tour the Ohio Statehouse and had a wonderful time.

The interior of the Statehouse is beautiful. The WOW-Moments were the marble map of Ohio in the floor and the dome room. The senate chamber was really cool as well.

If you have not been, the tour is free and it is well worth a trip. It’s a very good experience for children. We toured at the same time as some middle school students who already knew quite a bit about...

Beautiful building, you can see the solidity of it's construction down in the lower level. Heavy brick and stone, built for the ages, I can't believe this was built starting in 1839 because it's so large.

Security and staff were both friendly and helpful, you can see their pride and it's well deserved. Statues, paintings, history everywhere.

One thing other state capitols could learn from Ohio is their gift shop, first class with large selection of souvenirs.

I recommend you drop in and experience...

This is the location of the Ohio State House. It houses the Ohio House Of Representatives and Ohio Senate, as well as the ceremonial office of the Governor. You can visit and tour for free, but calling or emailing ahead is a good idea. The tour will cover a lot of history of both the State and the facility. The outside grounds are amazing. The State does a great job of maintaining the premises in immaculate condition, and we can be proud of our...

I took a guided tour of the capitol building, with Patricia leading it. She knows lots of fascinating history and stories about the building and the people who worked there, and she made the tour really enjoyable. The map room is stunning, and being in the presence of so much history was an amazing experience. Beautifully designed and decorated, as well. The letter walls out by the front were very emotional.
