Best place for volleyball in Columbus! Have done several Spring and Summer leagues here, and it is clear that the staff continues to prioritize the quality of the patron experience. Most noticeable is the sand courts. There are plenty (indoor and outdoor) and the maintenance is higher quality than I would expect from a bar. Staff focuses on making sure that games are moving along on schedule, there is fun music playing, and everyone has their drink of choice.
The indoor courts are godsend for the cold Ohio springs. It looks like an airport hanger on the outside, but they did a great job getting six courts in there. Nets separate each court, and there is some sitting room in the middle. It is well heated and have music going while games are on. Only bummer is the drinks that are available. For size reasons, there is a limited bar. But, again, the staff does their best to make sure you are having a good time and they flex if you have specific needs.
League support is decent. They always have enough teams to play, but the schedules are not available until a few days before it starts. This means you usually have to do a quick hustle to get the team together and get your fee paid. Their site has a decent schedule and record for both beer leagues and competitive.
Sorry this doesn’t have much bar info, because I really just play volleyball there. But, I do know they have a regular schedule of live music and the parking is ample (given the area around it). Only thing I can say that stinks about the place is the traffic/roads around it. Flannagan’s can’t really do anything about that, but it does take away from my excitement each time...
Read moreMy coworkers and I play in their wednesday night league and we have the most incredible time! We have 4 teams that play that night and Serena, their Event Manager & Volleyball Planner Extraordinaire, always finds a way to get us on the same court so we can play each other and even keeps our game times close together which makes travel, carpooling & mingling so fun and easy. Doing that for us while also planning the schedule for their dozens and dozens of leagues is really incredible and we could not be more thankful. On top of that, we planned an evening a few weeks ago for us to play our company’s Exec Board. I had planned the date far in advance of the schedule coming out and was hoping to get lucky asking our opponent to switch nights to make it work…little did I know I just had to ask Serena and she put us on the court at the perfect time playing each other with absolutely no issues! That evening was one of the most fun nights we’ve had as a firm and had upwards of 40+ colleagues and their families out enjoying the sun and sand volleyball! I cannot thank Serena and the Flannagan’s staff enough for making that night and our entire sand volleyball experience so special with so much going on at the same time. I cannot recommend Flannagan’s enough and I’m so glad I get to spend every Wednesday...
Read moreI know people who are sponsors for this business and are sponsoring the Morgan wallen event. They came to me yesterday and said that the show was sold out already to all sponsors, family, employees, and friends. The event was sold out 24 hours before the event was live to the public and they were still advertising it during that time after. The sponsors I know recieved many codes to put in to get the tickets 24 hours before the tickets went on sale. This is bad business and will never support these people and neither should any sponsors or other people. The sponsors also told me that flannagans also intentionally shut down the website so that they can just act like it was up and sold out in minutes. This was the whole plan all along and now that they are receiving back lash they are having people who they gave tickets to, to leave a 5 star review to keep their tickets....
