This place is pretty amazing if you're a fan of well crafted classic or unique cocktails, live jazz, and especially both. The atmosphere is what I'd imagine stepping into a 1920s club would be like, with the decor and lighting setting the perfect mood. The menu is varied and fancy enough to give you some great light-to-medium snacky options -- but it's not exactly where I'd go for my dinner. The high quality alcohol available is a huge plus, with gins being a particular focus. The bartenders have a solid list of unique cocktails (my favorite is the Bert Yazerrac) as well as classics like the dark and stormy. My partner has enjoyed the variety and quality of the martinis, with common variations written on the menu for the uninitiated. And of course, the music has been fantastic. The sound system is well crafted -- i was easily able to get lost in the music, but at no point felt it was too loud to speak to my partner or the server. I've visited on two occasions, and had the pleasure of hearing a different group of musicians each time. Knowing the music will be unique each time is a major plus in my book. They do limit the reservation time (be sure to be prompt so you don't miss anything!), but on both visits we didn't find this to be an obstacle to relaxing and enjoying our meals, drinks, or the music. I can't recommend this spot enough.

This is a fantastic speakeasy style bar featuring local jazz groups. The limited menu is not a problem. We shared 3 appetizers including the fabulous lobster roll and had plenty. Parking is both a problem yet not a problem. While it is a ways from the front door, the walk is through the well lit, trendy neighborhood and was quite pleasant. The reservation system is a bit strange. One gets 90 minutes guaranteeing a full musical set. This wasn't a problem on Wednesday night as they were not fully booked and we were allowed to stay for a second set. The music was mostly great jazz standards. Sadly, the guests were mostly unenthusiastic. It was a Wednesday night and it appeared most stopped in for a cocktail on their way somewhere else as opposed to our jazz focused destination visit. The nice thing about the quiet demeanor is that conversation was easy and relaxed. I've been wanting to go since Ginger Rabbit opened and am really glad I did. 😊 I'll happily go back with the proper perspective that it is a great starter for a formal dinner plan later in the neighborhood. Persevere! No thrive! We need more live jazz in the world especially featuring local artists. Thank you!

Went for the first time to celebrate my birthday. I had trouble making an online reservation (not necessarily their fault, I think my cruddy laptop was glitching) so I emailed them. Patrick reserved a table for me with a wonderful view. These intimate tables for two that are closer to the stage have the most comfortable, plush chairs - the kind where the back wraps all the way around the seat and you're enveloped. There are stools at the bar, and the wall seating was a bench that probably went all the way across, but also had plush cushioning and some curtains for segmentation and ambiance. Bathrooms are easily accessible and close enough you can still hear the music. Waitstaff buzz about to appease the audience, but somehow never distract from the show.

Food is limited, and what they have is very good, but a little pricey. I enjoyed Sicilian olives and Spanish almonds with my Cosmopolitans, and later ordered some salmon toasts - all were delicious. Since my husband was driving, he stuck to Sprite and a lobster roll.

The music! We loved the Robert Dove Quintet. As a former musician, I feel confident in saying they were very skilled. As a human, I will tell you they produce joy. My foot, hand, or head was barely still the entire show and I was so impressed by the 17 yr old keyboarder that I asked to give him a hug after the show.

We went for the early seating. Reservations are assigned seating times, so that there's no bottleneck in such a small space. We were one of the first to arrive for our showtime, which meant I got all the cocktail attention I could desire, and she wished me HBD. When we left, the folks for the later seating were packed down the staircase: this is a perfect...

Came on a Thursday night, early show. The good: beautiful atmosphere and vibe. The music and sound was fantastic. Drinks and table service were great— for drinks. We had a real issue with food service. Ordered two simple salmon handhelds at 6 pm. At 640 pm; asked server where our food was. She told us it was coming. Meanwhile, we see food slowly trickling out to other tables— including one table that arrived at 610 pm— AFTER we ordered and after the show started. Why wasn’t our order prioritized? This tells me it was lost and only put in when we complained. At 650 pm, spoke with manager, who said, “we only have one guy doing food, and we’ve never had so many food orders on a Thursday”. Not the right answer, Mr. Manager. Here’s the thing: this space holds about 45 people. We were in a position to see the whole room. There were six employees basically standing around (including the manager) after we complained and one guy slowly doing food (he was in plain sight, not in a kitchen). Maybe solve the problem by helping him? We finally got food after an hour, and it seems our order was probably lost, and was not acknowledged and prioritized after we called it out. Also, the handhelds we ordered are so simple that they literally could be made in two minutes. Manager comped our food and gave us desserts. But would not recommend coming here and expecting good...
