I hope all of you find the time to read this. Thank you.
As a new coffee drinker of course Iâm trying many roasters and shops around and in Columbus.
One Line will always stand out and has moved to the top of my charts. The coffee is phenomenal, but the service, care and support is even greater. The cleanliness of the shop; the warmth of the staff; the selection of beans; merchandise and apparel is well thought out, and at a very fair price point.
Itâs not my intention to be patronizing, but most of us take a sip of coffee and say, âwow thatâs goodâ, but I challenge you to think of the entire process from the origin source to the retail shop. Roasters/shops like One Line care about their product, and donât pump it out with ONLY the intentions of high-volume- like some long lined corporate chains. This is why quality and taste from a true roaster hales triumphant in the bean battle. Itâs why you wake up early to swoop on a parking spot for a quick cup before work. It makes you wanna brew at home, because you now have the main ingredient to create something consistently pleasing.
One Line has many options in store and online. If youâd like to brew at home order bags. If youâd like to stop in the shop when youâre in the area you have a vast variety of drink and brew options.
Everything about One line is extremely likable and in fact...
Read moreI frequent the Franklinton location, but this was my first time to the short north location. I will say that if you're traveling to either, I would still choose the Franklinton location, parking is easier and they make food there, really, really good food. They have only a small selection of pastries at this location.
Being in the Short North, there's a lot around if you're trying to go to a few places, but parking is a pain if you just want a coffee. I had a shot of espresso and a chocolate muffin. Espresso was good, if not a touch sour. I had to get the Method espresso as the single origin was not dialed in. I did appreciate them letting me know this and not just serving a bad shot though. The chocolate muffin tasted good, but was dry.
The best part about this location is that it is where they do their coffee education. I attended a cupping lead by Corey and it was a great experience. It was my first cupping and interesting to see the process. The coffees were mostly great or at least very interesting.
I still believe one line has the best coffee in the city and highly recommend attending a cupping or class here. For coffee and food, I still prefer the...
Read moreAs a huge coffee connoisseur (I have a death before decaf tattoo) I get really excited whenever someone else is as thoughtful and selective with their coffee as me. I have heard great reviews of the place, not only the coffee but their sourcing as well. I was greeted going into the Short North location but wanted to take a look at the bags of beans they had available to take home. Finally selected the Columbia El Progresso and went to purchase a hot coffee to take with me. I told the employee at the register that I'd never been there and asked him what his recommendations were and he acted like I'd just asked him to do a backflip for me. He was very short and rude with me and not particularly helpful. I took the first coffee he recommended just so I wouldn't have to continue the conversation. The cup of coffee I bought was phenomenal and I haven't had a chance to try the beans yet but service was awful. The shop wasn't busy and no one was in line behind me so there wasn't any reason to rush me...
