Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Columbus

I’ve been going to this location A LOT for the last 2yrs. So much so, I knew everyone there well. Last night has RUINED me from EVER going back there again! I wish I could give ZERO stars!! Let’s begin with when we finally got seated (wasn’t super busy but waited 20mins for a table for 6). It took over 15mins before anyone even walked up to us. Once the server (must’ve been maybe a month in on working there) approached us, no apology or anything for taking so long. I did all the ordering for everyone. We went in order with the youngest kiddo who was the closest to her, all the way around. She repeated the WHOLE order back after each person. 10mins later we get our drinks, 20mins later here comes the blooming onion, salads & the chili. No ones salads was correct & it took another 10mins before our server walked close enough for me to explain they was all wrong. NONE of them got fixed!! Our food came out 15mins later & all hell broke loose. Not a single Steak was cooked how it was supposed to be. We have 4 strings of asparagus, the sweet potatoe was obviously microwaved way too long, the coconut shrimp was soggy & the steakhouse Mac was so dry it was smashed into a ball. This server NOT ONCE walked back anywhere near us to ask if we needed anything, how everything was or if everything was ok!! NOT ONCE! I asked other servers multiple times to get her OR the manager! NO ONE came out!!! However, one server did bring 3 people a refill, but, no one else got any. By time this server came out (30mins later) everyone already shoved what they could of their food down EXCEPT the child. His steak was so bloody he couldn’t eat it even IF he wanted to. It took another 15mins for her to take the steak & have them recook the SAME STEAK on the SAME GRILL they cook everyone else’s food on. A STEAK THAT HE ALREADY TRIED TO EAT mind you!!! That was my final breaking point. I demanded the manager!! This lady came out & apologized as I was explaining all of this BUT the moment I said “the cook sucked”, standing next to MY CHILD she said “don’t talk about my cook like that”! She was NEXT TO MY CHILD and being rude to me!! I asked her to back up away from MY KID talking to me like that. She proceeded to stand there for another 5mins looking at me like I just asked her to do a crime. She eventually walked off & I asked the server for our check when she finally emerged from the back 10mins later. She hands me a check for $200!!!!! I was pissed! I asked her to take it to that “manager” so she could compensate us for all these troubles. This “manager” comes back out & hands the check to MY CHILD (who let me add is 9) instead of me, or any other adult at the table. When I seen all she did was knock off $20 for the child’s meal he couldn’t eat at all I lost it. I told her it was ridiculous she thought that was appropriate for all this madness. It was ridiculous the way she continued to speak to me about our dissatisfaction with the food & service, then it was EXTREMELY unsafe for my child how she approached this situation NOT ONCE, but TWICE next to him. At that point I got up & got LOUD! I asked TWICE for her to back up away from my kid. Some random man walked out & approached me in the corner I was sitting in. Didn’t even attempt to calm his “manager” down nor even introduce himself. I made my kids & I get out of that place & had my BF pay for the meal. Come to find out the “manager” was an assistant manager & the man is THE manager. So, $177 later, a kid that didn’t get to eat at all, 3 others that hardly ate, tons of food that wasn’t cooked properly (or safely) & an extremely unhealthy, unsafe environment, I’ll NEVER be back! She needs FIRED for how she approached this situation & how she acted next to my MINOR!! I also need completely compensated for the whole meal. Let’s see if anyone tries to rectify this situation. This wasn’t the first time I had been to an Outback Steakhouse but it was the first time I had been to this particular restaurant. We got there, were seated with no wait, and waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. Someone must have noticed our gazes, because a manager came over and took our drink order plus food order at the same time, and offered to take care of our appetizer for us to make up for our wait. We waited probably 30 minutes for our appetizer. After we had been there an hour, another manager came out to inform us that our check had not gone back to the kitchen and the bill would be adjusted for us, but it should be coming soon and if we would like to, we could get dessert on the house. We probably waited another half hour before our food came out. Then, in the middle of eating my meal, I ordered our dessert because I didn’t want to wait forever for that too. I gave the server a chance to make up for the long waits by asking that he bring along with it, a box and our check. He brought a box. Then 10 minutes later, our dessert, and then after we finished, our check. I work in food service as a server myself and it was ridiculous how they made no effort to be speedy after all the repeated mistakes. The whole experience took 2 hours for 2 people to get some dinner, pay, and leave on a Thursday night. I don’t know if it’s typically like this but I’m not sure I want to go back again and find out. I was grateful for the free appetizer and dessert but we still paid $26 (after a 15% comp) for probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Not great and will not return for the prices, there are better options out there. We were seated immediately but nobody came to talk to us for at least 8 to 10 minutes. We were seated at a dirty table too. When we met our server, Tish, she was wonderful and on top of the whole meal. Started with the Aussie Jawssie which was good but super super fruity almost like it was half syrup. Also tried the Pina Kola and it was aweful. Tasted like rubbing alcohol and brown sugar. Not like any Piña colada I have had before. I couldn't drink it and had my boyfriend finish it. We got the bloomin shrimp and they were not bad at all but not as good as bang bang shrimp at Bonefish Grill or Longhorn's shrimp. Boyfriend got the surf and turf with medium rare steak. The steak was cooked perfectly but way underseasoned and I could tell he did not enjoy it as much as he normally enjoys steak. Lobster was good but needed some more flavor too. Baked potato was dry and super salty so it was hard to enioy the skin. Brussel sprouts were not bad either but a huge portion and they smelled foul when we took them home. We have brought cooked brussels home from resturants before that do not smell so strong. I got the Alice chicken and pecan salad. Pecan salad was excellent and only $1 upcharge. Well balanced flavors and good portion, even if it did not look all that appetizing. The chicken was just a bit much altogether I would say. A lot of bacon and cheese with mushrooms and honey mustard. The flavors were not bad but weird. Chicken was really dry. Same situation with my potato being salty and dry.
