Waffle House — Restaurant in Columbus

I was there this morning for my breakfast as I have done it many times. Folks are right, most of the times, this Waffle House offered good service. However, today's dining experience was horrible. I came to the restaurant, sitting by the counter near the cashier. An African American lady by the name of " TonTon" was my server. I ordered my coffee and the breakfast. For more than 10 minutes, she did NOT bring the coffee. When another lady asked me if I was being served, that " Tonton" turned around and told her she was. Again, she put on her gloves and began to work on the cooking station, having no intention to give me my coffee. I had to ask the other lady to give me the coffee. About 5 minutes later, that "Tonton" server dropped the dish in front of me without saying a word, and one minute later she dropped the bill and found it wrong and dropped another one. Till this moment, I still held my appreciation thinking she might be overwhelmed by the busy morning which I did not really see any crowd. During my whole breakfast time, she never even intended to add coffee for me but flirted around a man sitting two seats away from me. This is the moment I became upset. This "Tonton" female server really had a problem. I ran out of the restaurant fury and distressed. I never knew this female and I don't want to see her any more. I have been enjoying my breakfast many times at this particular site and was never go through what I did this morning on 2/13/2013. What a day with these 13s! To my opinion, a server like "Tonton" should not in the hospitality business.And I probably will never go back to this restaurant any more . It may does not bother their business. However, I strongly believe if this person did this to me, she most likely would do the same to other...

Robin Soter description of this place is spot on. We are from out of state, no waffle House near us. This is the Worst Waffle House I've ever experienced. Dirty, sticky floors and dirty tables. Waitress(es) slow, disinterested. She did apologize for our wait, provided silverware and walked away. What about asking us if we would like something to drink? That was another 10 min. When she finally asked, it was another 10 min to bring one coffee and two waters, which she managed to spill a bit. Food was ok, like any other WH. I don't recall the waitress circling back to ensure everything with meal was ok. I had to get my own syrup from another, disgustingly dirty table. This place needs to be shuttered, like the store that is close by. Very unprofessional staff. Somewhat busy @ noon, but seemed to me because of disorganized chaotic WH staff. Rude. STAY AWAY. (We almost left, like the other couple did). Which brings in to question, in my mind, how sanitary is the kitchen, food preparation area.. etc. Waitress was bussing dishes and serving food. At least she wasnt cooking it. NEVER AGAIN, with...

I am not sure where to begin. The entire place was beyond filthy; food from previous customers on the counter and placemats; the grill looked like it hasn't seen a cleaning in months. Even my coffee mug had food caked on the rim of the lip. Unfortunately, I did not notice it until I had already started drinking from it. The waitress, although alone, was dismissive and rude. Unsure if it was her first day, but managed to take time to get into conversations with others while later complaining about coworkers not being there to help her: Horrible time management skills. Watched food being thrown away that was perfectly fine because she could not figure out who the food belonged to.

I must say, though, the cook was the only saving grace, as he helped a bit. As she was fumbling around at a snails pace, he quickly remade the order, which was mine, and served it to me. Props, T.J.
