We made our second visit for breakfast and this place could very well be our new favorite spot. They serve breakfast and lunch six days a week.
The first thing I noticed is the warm greeting from the lady at the door who handles the hostess duties in seating you and giving you your menu. This lady is the owner’s Mother so you know obviously you’re getting service from someone who genuinely cares about what they’re doing.
The other thing I noticed is everyone who works there are older women, not seeing any young kids.
I understand the owner is the chef so that food consistency seems to certainly be maintained.
Their coffee is so good! I was told it is Lamont Coffee out of West Chester and could certainly be the Premium Colombian blend.
My first visit I had the Shrimp and Grits:
▪️Pan fried shrimp over smoked
cheddar grits with a few drizzles
of chive oil served with a
homemade biscuit…MY
GOODNESS— I believe I counted
five decent sized fresh shrimp,
and the dish was to die for
Today, I ordered the two egg plate with potatoes and toast and a side of two pancakes.
I haven’t had pancakes this good in years. A slight crisp to the outside, nice and brown—a good 7 inch diameter.
They actually order their pure maple syrup that is shipped from upstate PA.
These are how pancakes should be done, served good and hot—with a side cup of whipped butter, which is rare to find these days!
The other half ordered the Bananas Foster French Toast…Bananas, toasted pecans, fosters sauce dusted with powdered sugar. INCREDIBLE!
I definitely can’t say enough good about both visits and would highly recommend you give...

So, sit down, Nudys. You too, Classic Diner. Market Street Cafe, the same. Apple Walnut Cafe, you too. This place crushes all the competition for food quality, menu choices and fast and friendly service at fair prices for the quality. Good ain't cheap to me and cheap ain't good.
This is hands down the best breakfast my wife and I have had since moving to this area a decade ago.
We were in great hands with Mary whose son graduated from the school I'm a teacher, possibly his teacher when he took basic marketing.
To start, the coffee is outstanding. Best we ever had as long as I remember at a breakfast restaurant as the taste is on par with those fancy coffeeshops charging three times the price.
My wife had the mushroom omelet, and I had a western omelet, both were huge step ups from the usual suspects named above due to the ingredients - fresh, sauteed shrooms, caramelized onions, roast peppers, cooper sharp cheese, all combining to elevate the flavor.
Had to try a pancake which was especially delicious - light and fluffy, prepared one at a time.
My side of bacon was that thick Amish cut I enjoy best with eggs.
I brought my own bottle of Tabasco as I must have it with my meal and the other friendly waitress Jen shared a tip, they have a bottle hidden away knowing not everyone likes Capula.
This is five stars, must try food. We have found our new favorite meal spot in the Morningstar Cafe. You try it too and it will become...
Read moreNever ever again. I went there the other morning right after i had bloodwork done. There was only 2 customers in there i had not eaten for 14 hrs from fasting. I walked in and stood there like a dope for 5 minutes before i was even acknowledged the waitress was hateful and not at all friendly. Because i dont feel well after bloodwork i had a yetti filled with spring water and lemon and sea salt which i am required to have. I ordered my breakfast and the waitress told me to put my drink on the floor ?? She asked me if i saw the big sign . what sign i asked. She told me no drinks. I should have walked out of there right then and there but was too weak from not eating. My eggs were not cooked medium well. They were all runny. The potatoes were doused with seed oil. They were never blotted. Oh get this. I got ONE piece of toast. I asked her whats up with one piece. She became defensive in telling me people waste food?? I told here never in my life have i ordered bacon and eggs out and only got ONE piece of toast. SHE looked at me as if i came off of a spaceship!! Their prices are overpriced. I am not required to drink tap water from who knows where at their place i have a right to drink my own spring water with minerals. For now on i will go to nudys right up the street. They treat you great and act appreciative. Their prices are great. Very disappointed with the attitude and disrespect...
