Read moreI am a fried chicken fanatic and have tried all the major fried chicken places before the trend of hot chicken popped off. I have had Dave’s, Hot Boys, Chicken Drip, Hot Motha Clucker, Baba’s Hot Chicken, Angry Chickz, etc.
This new place Chicken Thyme, punches above its weight and competes with the best of the best. What makes it special is the thinner yet very large slab of chicken in the slider that is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The flavor is more subtle which allows the quality of the chicken itself to shine through. The sauce that it is paired with is amazing and compliments the rub on the chicken. The heat is there but not overpowering. It is very clear that the team behind this place put a lot of thought into the recipe to make this chicken special.
Also, I did not feel bloated after eating the slider which is very rare and I believe shows the quality of the food. Everything was fresh and served hot.
The nuggets, fries, and mac & cheese, were also all very delicious.
It’s the low key chicken places that are often the best and the hidden gems. Chicken Thyme feels like what Dave’s must of been like before...
