My family and I usually frequent the Kannapolis location and after last nights experience with the Speedway location, I will always go to the Kannapolis location as they know how to do customer service. I went through the drive thru at this location after spending the evening taking my son to a concert to celebrate his high school graduation, so we were hungry and excited for Cookout as my whole family and I usually love to get it as a treat because we usually love their food! A employee named Cameron (that was the name listed on my receipt) was the one dealing with my son and myself and she was extra polite to the customers she handled in the truck in front of my car and then the car behind me, but for some reason she immediately had a poor attitude with me even though I started off extremely polite and overly friendly as I always do at any food service place as I have been a server myself and I completely understand how rude people can be sometimes in this particular industry. For some reason politeness did not work for Cameron as she immediately had an attitude with me from the start and she continued to cut me off every time I would give her a response to a question about my order she would ask me!!!!! At one point when I was attempting to order a "big double with everything" she cuts me off and says " what do you want on it" so I start listing the toppings then she cuts me off and says "no, I don't need you to list every single thing" excuse me? Didn't you just ask me what I wanted? Cameron purposely did this throughout the order, was a very angry person and had the nastiest attitude I have ever encountered in customer service, At one point after she cut me off yet again, I said to my adult son “That was F$&king rude" I absolutely did say that out loud because she was incredibly rude! I even asked my adult son, did I sound rude at all with this person whatsoever to start with? I was genuinely confused at Cameron's reaction and responses to me from the very beginning of our interaction as I started off incredibly polite with my ordering. Then when we got to the window I assumed she heard me say how rude she was being, because I heard her making comments about me to her coworkers through the window! As Cameron started to hand me my 5 drinks individually, I asked for a drink tray which she flat out refused to give me, then when we got home and checked our food we very quickly figured out that Ms. Cameron and the entire Cook Out staff working with her decided to mess with the food we paid for by purposely not putting any toppings whatsoever on that everything burger (literally it was the burger patty and the bun), every single cheese bite order we asked for, the staff was so generous and put literally 3 cheese bites ( which are tiny) in the package they serve them in, when usually theres a whole bunch of them filled up in the paper sleeve, they made sure not to put bacon on my sons bacon wrap or chicken in our chicken wraps. We were actually so worried the staff may have messed with our food at this point we weren't sure if it was even safe to eat which is awful seeing how I spent close to 50.00 on the order, so we threw everything away without eating it and I immediately reached out to corporate, which I am waiting to hear back from. I would recommend never using the Speedway location if these are the types of people they think are good to employee to run their business, the types of people who would purposely sabotage and mess with customers orders to the point you have to worry wether it's safe or not to eat the food! It is worth driving to the Kannapolis location as they know what customer service actually is. I would recommend the management at the Speedway location send Cameron and the rest of the staff that decided to mess with our food, to maybe spend a day with the Kannapolis location to learn about customer service and...
Read moreCook Out has earned a reputation for its late-night eats and budget-friendly trays, but beneath the nostalgia and neon lights lies a culinary experience that, unfortunately, fails to deliver.
On a recent visit, I sampled a selection of items from the menu, hoping to find at least one redeeming flavor amidst the hype. What I encountered instead was a consistently underwhelming lineup of food that leaned far too heavily on excessive oil and questionable quality.
The chicken nuggets, in particular, were a low point — dry, oddly textured, and bearing the unmistakable taste of meat that lacked freshness. Each bite was more of a chore than a treat. Accompanying items fared little better. Even the fries, a fast-food staple that’s hard to ruin, arrived soggy and overly greasy, lacking any crisp or character.
While fast food doesn’t pretend to be gourmet, there is a baseline of quality and flavor that consumers reasonably expect. Sadly, Cook Out seems to have missed that mark. For those seeking a quick bite, there are better options nearby — ones that don’t sacrifice quality for quantity or cost.
Oily, bland, and below par — Cook Out needs to clean up its act before it can earn a place among even the modest fast...
Read moreThis cookout is the worst. They will not get another dime of my money. They have very bad customer service. I came through drive thru tonight and sat for 15 to 20 mins waiting for someone to come ask for my order no one responded. After saying hello multiple times and receiving no response yet seeing 5 or 6 cars in the adjacent lane had moved forward, I thought there may have been an issue with the speaker. When the car in front of me finally pulled forward, I moved ahead to the window to ask if the speaker was broken but was ignored at first and then told that I could not place an order and was holding up the line by the young male cashier who said that he had been too busy making milkshakes for the previous car to come to the speaker to take my order. Refused to get a manager and made a slick comment about how much the previous order cost. Never apologized for the wait and instead of taking our order and asking us to hold on a few more moments, he closed the window. Very rude, unprofessional and lost a...
